what do you mean "soft"? there are fast and slow mousepads hard and soft in terms of materials but they can have different surfaces.

A carpet would be soft. The street outside your home would be hard.

Softer than a talent? Havent tried any artisan but talent is the softest pad i ever used

As long as you don't recommend the Shiden-Kai.
That is soft. But not really usable with non-laser mice, sadly. (or I would be using that already)

Anyone in particular you'd recommend?

Also, how would you compare softness to other pads.

I have Puretrak Talent and Zowie G-TF to compare with.
I'm not happy with any of them with regard to softness.

The QCK Mass is thicker, apparently, so I'm guessing that would be the softest of the three?

depends how big the machine is, if it's so small that the pad(qck heavy in this case as its the big one) needs to be folded to fit, then it might come out with a remaining forever fold in the middle, like it happened to me.
taking some washing powder, a brush and water to clean it works really good tho.

I dont see the thickers ones to be the softest since its all being made by the same Material, I do can see a thicker one to be more overall comfortable to the wrist

The G-TF has hard layers and its very rough = uncomfortable
Talent is so so since its not rough at all but smooth, so its nice but not as comfortable as soft pads such as QcKs


I not sure about washing machine, I did wash the Talent in the past and it taken some time for it to be competetly dry..I wouldn't wash it through, only gain in cosmetic wise.

Washing the Talent ruined it for me. Its now very 'slow'; lost its glide.

But washing the Zowie G-TF made it perform much better here.

I still want a pad softer than the Zowie, though.

you'd love everglide titan (monstermat) if you happen to find it anywhere, qck+/qck+ heavy maybe

for comfort I'd go with the Qck heavy/mass or Tt dasher

I never took that risk, and always handwashed mine, but some people do it without any problems. The best (or the recommended) way to do it, is by putting the pad inside a pillowcase, for instance, to avoid damage to the surface, and at 40ºC max.

Based on Steelseries' website, you cannot see there's any difference between QCK and QCK+......

What is the difference?

qck heavy is larger than qck mass. both are thick.
qck+ is larger than qck. both are thin.

Do not wash a QCK... it will trash it. QCK is made from standard polyester so the surface is the same as like a regular polyester t-shirt. Talent is softer cause it's a blend of material.

It's odd that washing the Talent ruined it... I've washed mine about 4 times now and it feels brand new when it's done drying. I'd even go as far as saying it's smoother cause of all the crap that comes off it.

If you want to, find a pad that has a foam base not a sponge rubber base. That will be your softest though will probably be hard to find in a gaming pad because foam bases are kinda garbage :(

Washed multiple Qck pads, none of them were ruined.

Just going by my own personal experience on two QCK's I had... mini and a heavy. Hand washing them works great but I made the mistake of putting them both in the machine at the same time and they came out wrinkled, rough, and frayed.

At first i haven't tested Puretrak Talent.
qck np+ has textured cloth surface that imho better than razer goliathus control. For me this surface is a bit more controllable and ofc better than qck mass(heavy) or razer razer goliathus control.
qck mass and qck heavy has same usual cloth surface. They both have 6mm thikness that is very soft as u said (when you press down on it, it will give). Only size differs(heavy bigger).
qck+ (with logo of some team) has 4mm thikness and worst cloth surface that i tried. It's too fucking fast like an ice rink.
Last 6 mothns use qck np+ with zowie am. I wanna try some artisan mousepads.

So which one is yoru favourite now?
And why.

If you are considering the Shiden[Kai] from them, then don't get one, unless you are using a laser mouse - or using very high sensitivity.

qck np+ is my favourite now cause it has not so big glide speed and good control imo. i have sens 28cm/360.

Check out the XTrac Ripper XXL. It's nearly a metre wide, and it's quite soft.

I had an XTrac pad many years ago.
Yes, it is, indeed, very soft.

But as far as I recall, it wore down very quickly. :(

I've had it for about a year. The surface is a little bit rougher now but no more than most pads. Also, I've noticed there is no peeling/fraying on the edges that even the Puretrak seems to suffer from.

Good pad indeed. But I don't get how it could be described as being soft.

Well... I don't get how it could be described otherwise. It has a high rubber base (~5mm), cloth over it... Softer than that, and the mouse would sink in (which it does if you apply just a little too much pressure).

Ok, I get what you mean now. I was thinking only about the feel of the cloth which is somewhat coarse.

tried loads, if you want something very soft, smooth and cushy then go for an Artisan Hayate with the Soft base type. nice surface as well.
