some good frags, ok cfg, notbad music, lacks some creativity with the content you using imo, and map names weren't that necessary.

North America, take notes.

Debunking some myths about the SA region (that will get me flamed on fb). The tl;dr version is Clan Arena killed southamerican quake, just look at the server browser, and servers are going down anyway.


Now the long version:

First of all it seems argentinian servers will not come back, provider is not willing to do it for free anymore, and chilean's are going down very soon, same as arg + understandably people not willing to pay for them separately anymore (like usd$2,000 a year. It was like that for about 3 years).
Argentinians now play on unofficial servers (qlop) just like BRs do, though they lately started using vpns to play on chile's officials, and as we know no official servers = 10% of players = immediately dies.


Secondly, competitive-wise chile was much, much more active than argentina (like 5x more) but this year it simply died:

- Lets start with argentina and brazil. Argentinians either play pub duel or pub ca, nothing more. Literally 0 tdm and 0 ctf, always been like that and always will be. Brazilians don't have an official server and rarely host nor join tournaments anyway (they literally have 1 clan and never sign up in other countries tournaments. Individually they rarely play on duel tournaments, flesh1 included).

Chilean admins always tried to host non-ca tournaments (for obvious reasons. CA is not quake) and here's what happened with tdm, ctf and duel:







- With QL for some reason people here completely left mods with items and tournaments as well, therefore there's no cohesion and it lead to an unavoidable death (what admin would want to waste time on keeping alive ca). Add to that the 0 region integration (and I mean 0) and the result is obvious.
Very few people started playing duel in ql as playing with the 20- local duel players was the sole viable alternative to ca, and that's what vodkax did.

edit: - Since I know this post will cause e-drama, Personally I only play ql sporadically (more like ca since those are the only public servers) but when I do I get addicted and play for hours lol. For some reason I find it more entertaining to do so on argentinian servers, which is why I don't really care about the "chilean scene" (for example i only play on tournaments if asked). Thing is for me and for most players playing quake dies the moment there are no official southamerican servers, which should be in a couple of days, whether because of not knowing the existence of unofficial servesr (most people) and I can't be bothered to play on them (the rest).
