Personally I like the wmo but it's more of a nostalgia thing lol, but it'll get replaced by bst's ninox aurora or velocity.

Zowie mouses have been reported as shit by quakers here (prediction problems and the other usual suspects)

wmo has been reported as shit by other quakers here, including low speed threshold and awful materials

Materials are not that important. Sensor wise, can you find a more solid mouse that
a) doesn't skip
b) doesn't present lots of problems depending on the mousepad

The simple design is also unbeatable for crawl grip players.

Materials are of the essence. I know you are new to this mouse and to pc gaming (or just a perma noob) but it will certainly start having scrolling issues, auto jumping (right click), sweating makes it nasty, the cable is unbearable, its feet (what this thread is about) are just cheap plastic which is funny in comparison to the new 3.0's which are awesome and so on.
If it weren't for nostalgia I wouldn't use one, and even then it's plugged in only on my gaming pc which is used less and less for gaming (haven't played a pc game in at least a month).

a) Didn't you make a thread about having sensor issues like last week? Also 400dpi is simply not enough when using a pc of this millennium; it's pretty sad seeing it skip even on desktop.
b) Has cost plenty of tournaments to rapha, who is the only top player that uses it whereas all the rest switched to others and not because of sponsors.

1) I've had wmo's for a decade. Only had to replace it 1 time.
2) Cable and so on... whines. Not that much of a big deal. Plastic is fine too, no sweat here.
3) 400dpi is perfect to play Quake. No one cares about desktop performance (lol) unless you do specific stuff such as graphic design.

To be fair, using a mouse with a poor sensor is bad. Using a pad with poor control is bad. Using a monitor riddled with lag is bad. However, I think keyboard is entirely preference, as long as it isn't wireless. I do understand your point, though. These exist to hinder a good player, not to oppress a bad player.

I have a Heavy and it should feel 4/5 on a smooth scale. I say this because my old pad is smoother. Over time oil, skin cells and a little hair from my cat get into the pad. I wash it vigorously with water on a clean cloth and let it dry over night with a fan. In between cleanings I use a rubber brush lightly to remove debris. From my experience most friction problems are not the pad itself but the feet of the mouse. I would try buying teflon tape/pads to see if it improves your glide. If you can borrow mice from friends or something to test the pad I'd do that too. Heavy is a good cloth pad that should last a long time. I've sectioned off the top right corner of my pad to preserve it in case I ever need to check how it feels new.

buy a round of teflon, actually I saw some about 2 cm wide and a couple of cms long and 1 side is supper sticky, it was ment to be customizable mousefeet and such, prolly is cheaper than a few bottles of beer, so you shoud fo for it.

I have a puretrak talent, and the feet improved the glide quite a bit, especially notable on small movements like you described. it seems like hyperglides are the most recommended, don't know how big the difference is to cheaper ones though

I'm using Hyperglides for my WMO. It's definitely worth its price. It made a huge difference for me, when I changed from stock feet. The friction is almost completely gone, turning, strafing and rockets became easier. "Micromovements" are also feels a bit better, however I haven't noticed any change to my LG acc.

Btw, I'm using low sens (sens 2, accel 0.125, @400dpi), so it's obviously makes more difference for me than for high sens users.

Sorry, but WMO stock mousefeet are really very VERY bad. Just change them to something else and after doing that, you will feel like WMO is the best mouse in the world :)

AFAIK none of the pros are using nothing but stock wmo feet on their wmos, also i've heard people saying they are not that bad.

Of course you can. But I wouldn't recommend it, because it would lower your LOD way too much.

At his prime q3 days he used to play with a WMO on an icemat (as well as all the other ic members) and as we all know, icemat kills your mousefeel in a matter of weeks/days. That already proves that your theory is wrong, because fox would have to change his WMO mousefeet to other one's and I guess at that time, you couldn't but/get another stock mousefeet to replace the old ones.

Sure, you can give me an example of cooller, cypher or rapha, but I still believe that they had to replace their WMO's mousefeet after a while.

I wouldn't say it's that bad. WMO stock feet was okay. For example I had an A4tech X7 and it's mousefeet was terrible and sticky. So it's not that bad compared with other mice's feet. But with Hyperglides, my WMO feels much more precise.

Yes, they aren't that bad compared to other stock mousefeet for every day use, but I just simply didn't like them at all, because they had way too much friction on my Golithus or QcK+ Fnatic that I would like to. Nevertheless, I would still recommend to change them if you want to use your WMO at it's full potential :)

Best feel? razer goliathus + mx510 + slicksurf mousefeet (perfect feeling, not too fast, ability to stop when you want, insanely accurate flick shots)

always used hyperglides. I tried a lot, the steelseries ones, the puretrak ones, the razer replacement ones, etc. I find the hyperglides don't wear down a lot compared to the others, and are the smoothest. I always buy hyperglides :>

Exactly what you are saying - micro movements are impossible with stock feet.
I have very thin teflon feet and I removed original feet before so there is small friction of the mouse case when I press it hard. If I had known it before I would have glued them on top of stock feet

but you didn't metion what brand are you using.

I used only one wmo's gliders so I have no comparison.

buy a new feets. There are some pro players that claim they didn't change these feets but I think it's worth it. No more static friction makes much difference when making very little moves. Maybe you will have to tune up slightly sens and acceleration. And one thing more, buy teflon feets, not crappy thin tapes etc. It worns out very fast

How about the hyperglides for 1.1/3.0??

i used "miceskatez" for WMO. Anything will be good, I think they all are simillar. Lately I use "Padsurfers" on my ubermouse, see my hama wmo thread here on forum :)

I use a razer abyssus on a 4 dollar cloth pad from Staples and rape most of the kids in here

I use the blue Puretrak teflon feet, they last for ages. Puretrak Talent is a good pad too.

Exact same here. I use the Puretrak feet on my WMO and the talent mousepad. Malty FTW.
And yes, it is worth putting new feet/skates on the mouse.
