So far things are going great! We have five teams signed up and many other players have approached me with respect to having their rosters finalized and registered in the upcoming days. Registration is still open and all teams are invited to participate.

In addition to this, and in attempt to help organize teams to have a healthier cup, we will be hosting two drafts for players who are without teams, whether it because they are unfamiliar with the game, or the scene. The first draft will the be main draft, this will occur on Sunday January 6, 2012. This date is fast approaching and will give newly formed teams a chance to practice before the tournament begins, however, there will be an additional draft the following weekend, Sunday January 13, 2012 for those who, for whatever reason, cannot attend the main draft.

Main Draft: 15:00 CST, 6 January 2013 (Sunday)
Second Draft: 15:00 CST, 13 January 2013 (Sunday)

All players who are interested are not required to sign up a draft list and merely expected to show up (disclaimer: this may change and there will be an update if it does). As this tournament will host International competition, players should be available to answer questions to captains. Further details will be released with respect to this draft in the upcoming days.

Both drafts will occur in #BlackoutDRAFT on irc.quakenet.org. This channel will be setup by 22:00 CST, 28 December 2012.

Any players that are interested in being captains should contact me as soon as possible.

We are also accepting donations from any and all members of the community. All donated money will go strictly to the tournament prize pool. Currently the total prize purse is $100.00 (CDN).

Please be aware that all captains are completely responsible for reading the rules and informing their respective members. If you have any confusion with respect to what needs to be done, please contact me on #blackout or and/or e-mail.

The tournament currently has five referees excluding myself and as the tournament requires teams to setup their own games it may be difficult for the current staff to attend all games (which is neccessary). As such, I would like to appeal to any community members who would like to share this responsibility. Contact details are below.

I am also starting preliminary work on organizing GTV, Shoutcast and Streaming services. There is not much of an update here, however, if there are people who like to lend their support to such services, please feel free to contact me.
