I think there are at least 15-20 good/decent casters in QL right now.

Zoot, ddk, Disrepute, Vor, 2GD, Vo0, fazz, nVc, TosspoT, fishstix, twister, easytarget (not the most professional, but committed and casted EU events before), Memento_Mori (never heard him actually cast, but he's a fast-thinking duel analyst), ischju

ins, ShadyAK

These just popped into my mind, 16 names, and there are probably more. People I missed, people I don't know (for example there are some actually good casters in div 5 tdm (ArQon), so I can imagine there are good duel casters with lower ELO as well). Also not listed Americans (ppl like Jehar and Fear).

And I also think events like these are good opportunities for lesser known casters to try out. Everything is better than no stream/cast. Maybe not on the FACEITtv official channel, but still.

2gd hasn't casted any quake in months(years?), same goes for fazz, nvc, fishstix, ischju and twister. (recent one time appearances don't count)

Vor is great but he doesn't really like duel that much I think.

Tosspot... I wish he was a quake caster, but besides the legends tournament he hasn't been on the scene since the early quakecons I think?

You're also saying we have good decent casters, but you never heard them cast (memento's case).

In order not to sound butthurt, I don't look down on anyone that's even trying to cast, I appreciate the effort and realize it takes some guts and some language fluency to pull it off neatly, so props to everyone trying, but to say that QL has 20... ok, let's make it a challenge, 10 good casters is just spreading misinformation.

I would cast if qlranks.tv would make it possible to cast on their stream. casting 6-7hours a stream like faceit tv is just not possible when you have a "life".

Roy, allow Russians to cast restreams or whtever u might consider appropriate - they are, in fact, half of the QL community. The whole former USSR enjoys casting in Russian, and u cut them off from the coolest weekly tourney in years?

Maybe theres a way to surplus Russian stream viewer numbers to yours?

uaShadow's, DarkRa's or 4ce's commentating is one of the top notch fluent, funny AND adequately intense, so losing them from QL scene's saint cow which is FaceIt is a BIG loss. U won't do that, will ya?

But... they're way more entertaining than english speaking casters. Casts in english is two stiffs with british accents, sounding like they have sticks up their asses, droning on and on and on.

U didn't read the above, did u? If there's a way to add up Russian-speaking restream viewer numbers to faceit's - why the fuck will anyone bother about commies having to learn english instead of just giving this huge army of Quakers a chance to watch Quake the way they love it?
And yet again - Russian streams are WAAAY different in terms of entertainment to those of english. They're more close to 2gd's combos of fun and deep insights, with less restrictions all-round.
If u would known Russian - u would already miss those brilliant casts. (on the contrary to official FaceIt's cast teams - Russian casting was ALWAYS top-notch and hilarious, with skype appearances of oldskool hardcore quakers, just for fun, and some stars, like Agent).
Not allowing Russians to stream is like removing your favourite SaturdayNightLive shows (put your fav show name here) from the internets.

Remember how 'Pure Pwnage' got cancelled? That's pretty much how we, Russians, feel right now about FaceIt official-stream-only rule.

And it's kind of hard to take you ruskis seriously regarding how good you think the cast is seeing as how you're always going AAAAH MOTHERLAND no matter what it's about. Clanbase groups, defending deliberate murders defeat on lan, doesn't really matter what it is, some commie fanboy is always there to defend it.

in case you didn't notice, everyone asking here for the russian stream is articulating it in english. language is not a problem at all, the problem is not giving a good and great russian-speaking casters to do what they can (for free, btw), the problem is alienating big part of quake community, the problem is that way you cut your viewer base.

did the official legends cup stream get more viewers when faceit decided to ban russian streamers? yes, definitely, but maybe a third of russian viewerbase at best. lots of people opened official stream, said "meh" and closed the page. less - after the quarterfinals, when someone russian-speaking made a re-stream. that cup had one of the most interesting list of participants, so it would be watched even if it was streamed with coptic language commentary.

can they hope that weekly cups will get those russian-speaking viewers who watched russian stream? only a small, very small portion. i think it is crazy to think that big number of people would learn english to follow quake competitions stream. less people watching -> less people bothering -> less word-of-a-mouth advertising -> less impact on the scene. that's a very simple math, i don't understand, why faceit went that way. also i couldn't find any official statement, why russian stream was banned and no answers will there be any in future. all we get is silence.

i love to watch quake competitions streams, but deciding between choky frightened people in suits, desperately trying to radiate excitement by aimlessly trying to talk fast, and more laid-back witty insightful commentary with occasional burst-ins by russian-speaking top quake players is a no-brainer.

Not sure, the NA scene is much, much less active than the EU scene and the player pool is, again, much smaller. Will also be quite busy with study, so we'll see!
I kind of want to set up some kind of QL streaming service, where I give comments such as timings or ragings when I play, but not sure how interested people are. Also, American internet is shit.

heh - was just having fun. I'd swear too much; never be 100% sober; and my humor might be too biting at times. If I wasn't making fun of a player, or insulting a nationality, then I would feel I was lacking in entertainment value.
