Keeping the tradition alive and kicking it off in the year 2013. Excuse the delay, I hope you find the info still relevant. Last year was full of surprises, some good, some bad; the usually ups and downs of any online game in this dire times.
Lesser known games without huge corporate benefactors are left to rot if the community itself doesn't kickstart them and push them into the spotlight amongst big E-sport titles. There will always be naysayers that claim a certain game or even genre is dead. Is it less active than previous years? Maybe so. Should we strive to make it better? Hell yes.
2012 marked the year when we lost our beloved Zotac cups in the end of July, it was a massive blow for the community which racked up a hefty 275 signups to express the gratitude of running 144 cups. Fortunately, FaceIt team stepped in and have been bringing us quake actions since September, hosting more than 40 cups and events since then. We have a chance to get Quake Live back on DreamHack this year, provided we, as a community, pull ourselves together and make 2013 a fabulous year for Quake.
If you're in it for the money, just follow the cups. (*note that bronze cups won't appear near day of week to reduce spam and highlight important events.)
