I have unbindall and unaliasall at the top of my cfg and i've put all the alias stuff at the end of the cfg to ensure it gets loaded. It's not working.

Yeah, I remember getting those errors too. But I don't remember how to fix it.

The only way to fix it that I know of is to reset defaults from the website.

Removing 'unaliasall' from my main config helped tremendously.

What do you mean? I use Alt key to fire from lg and machinegun. And similar to mouse buttons Alt key does not push itself.

"normalacc" is not necessary in your script because sensitivity is set to normal then alt key is released

i used to do this in quake3 and shared it with some people. in the end none us could get used to it and it got dropped.

you can also modifiy what was proposed here to only have one +attack button and change the +/-sens modifier with the weapon changes, but you probably knew that already.

cg_zoomsensitivity 1 is dependant on your cg_fov whereas cg_zoomsensitivity 0 is not (fixes cg_fov to 75 in its calculations). So when I shoot it lowers my sense slightly as I have a base cg_fov of 90. Works really, really well :)

I remember when i used one of those sens scripts. I used 3 sens 0 accel for lg and 4 sens .1 accel for rocket. I then changed to 3 sens 0 accel for lg and rocket and noticed my lg was 200x better. The only good way to alter your sens for diff weps is by fov imo like strenx, just don't get carried away and use 130fov and 50zoomfov coz anythin that changes ur sens will affect ur muscle memory and 130fov and 50zoomfov are a big diff (i know from exp).


And a bit offtopic but if u gonna use strenx style 100fov 70zoomfov make sure u use low sens around strenx or lower the fov/zoomfov diff. Coz from my exp i noticed when i switched from 90fov to 100fov my 100fov lg sucked so i would always be zooming and 70zoomfov isn't the ideal fov for lg fights.

I use fov 103 and fov 95 for railgun. I hate to use lg with any other fov that isn't the default fov (103 in my case). I can't focus if the fov is any different, but i can't aim with the default sens for all the weapons. I like to play with my wrists and be able to do quick turns with wrist only, which means i need lower sens with lg. I have no idea how rapha aims since his sens is higher than me and he seems to not use zoom a lot.

I can understand how u feel. when i used the sens changer i could clearly see my aim was better, but later on through experience you will notice the tiny flaws. As for rapha i think it has to do with his aiming style e.g. arms on table which is only really useful for a sens like his and his movement (he has imo the best strafe aiming in quake.

I think using different sensitivities and FOV would give an edge to a robot. Humans need to stay consistent for overall performance. I've tried for years to get used to "Frankenstein" configs and it isn't beneficial. In the end, it is simply more complicated and while you might come out on top of a few select battles, it doesn't necessarily carry over to others. To me, consistency is more important than everything else.

I consistently suck in lg battles with my "overall sens". It's too high.

That is approximately 32cm/360 on 400 DPI. I consider this more of a medium sensitivity personally. However, I am not familiar with your accel setting. Compared to what I've used in the past it seems a little high for my taste. I no longer use accel today. I do believe it benefits rockets, but as far as shaft and rail go (my best weapons) it is detrimental. I can't hit the same accuracies when using accel. It might just be my style of play. If you think your sensitivity is high check out Stermy's configuration. He uses ~22cm/360 with no accel and his shaft is very good. I saw him hit 60+% LG in CA recently. For this reason I think your base sens has little to do with your LG battles.

What m_pitch and m_yaw settings do they use? I use 0.022, some people use 0.018 which is slower.

Stermy uses 0.022.

What mouse and windows settings?

He uses Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 Legends Edition overclocked to 500Hz with MarKc accel fix. 6/11 on Windows 7 slider.

The only thing I am unsure of is the DPI of the Legends Edition. He claims it is 450, but the regular version is 400 so I don't know. If it actually is 450 DPI his cm/360 is about 21.5.

LE had more DPI than default WMO and IE sensor afaik. Would explain it. His ingame res its also a factor to consider.

Yes but the higher the DPI is on the mouse the faster it is. I lose control around 18cm/360. Like you said before, I can't imagine accurate play beyond this. I believe both rapha and stermy use 100 FOV by the way. If you're higher than that it will feel faster.

I think cl_mouseaccelstyle doesn't exist anymore as they've done away with style 1, which was framerate dependent. I believe the accel we have today is style 0. cl_mouseaccelpower controls the curve and is 2 by default. cl_mouseacceloffset specifies at which velocity accel kicks in. If left at 0 accel is active at all times. Only reason I can think of using an offset is if you are low sensitivity and want to do a 180 by performing a swipe movement. m_accel is from Quake 3 if I remember correctly. It has no effect in QuakeLive.

I've played around with senses so much it started hurting my head only to change them.
At one point I've had RL with +2 normal sens and new accel commands, while rail was +1.7 normal sens and .5 old accel. My lg was witout accel and normal sens, while shotgun was much like rocket only with normal sens.

When you realise you can adjust sens to prevent your aim style difficulties you can go overboard with playing around.
I've switched to only 1 sens value and 1 accel value and it is really much better since you can trust youself more to correct an issue you are having rather than thinking about it and designing ways to correct yourself trough the game modifications.

I've never done anything as extensive as what you're trying to do, maybe it's the way to go, but if you want to do something permanent you correct your aiming yourself.

If you have difficulties with aim then why do you use acceleration? It adds another layer of complexity.

I wrist aim and need to reposition my POV quickly yet still have the luxury of using rather low sens for fine aiming without jumping all around the screen.
