Good fresh and fast paced soundtrack that sticks out in a good way and still fits into Quake fragging. The camera work was excellent and especially that rail frag on dm6 at 3:30. Almost can't wait for the continuation :>

This is not at all the type of music I listen to personally, but if you actually take notice it fits the tempo Quake. The importance of that aspect should not really be questionable in any way. Am I not right?

On a different note; I am not rating the soundtrack 9/10, just my overall impression of the movie. If i had to rate the choice of music seperately I would probably only give it 6 or 7/10. Guess how low I would then rate most other movies on that account :>

1) Music is 7/10 for me, but tastes differ
2) Some visual effects like explosions and plasma are somewhat annoying
3) Some frags are exceptional, and some are mediocre - remove the latter
4) Introduction is kinda bored

This is what I call a FragMOVIE! It not just random frags with music it has actually some other stuff in it aswell. Really great job!

The frags were OK-bad.
A lot of unimpressive CA frags (shafting noobs, one of those thunderstruck games where retards rj at each other trying to hit airrockets...) and mediocre frags against strenx or cypher which you included because of the nicknames...

Editing was pretty good, some angly cameras though and some slowmos that broke the flow at times. Some sync but not enough.

FX was really not my taste, way too flashy. Otherwise cfg was alright.

You forgot pummeling AFK opponents, truly frag-movie material! And a pre-aimed rail that still took someone 2 seconds to re-align and fire.

Good to see a movie with tier 2 players having fun in the game (I really miss "Fragged by Dwoggurd" series), but I'm really surprised ESR votes high on this.

Still, I rated it 0/10 because of gibs, just like yours :)

This kind of gibs [*] not only looks wrong, but is getting included entirely for the shock value. But it doesn't shock me or make any impression, I'm not 15 years old anymore. But I guess you have this mentality of "let's make it more brutal so everyone sees how tough I am". Us adults don't need to prove this to anyone, especially in such infantile way.

Yes, it is violent, but there's no point in discussing where "too violent" starts. That's because there's no blood, gibs or other stuff in Quake Live. So if you're making a Quake Live movie, aimed at Quake Live players, it should look (and be rated) similarly, no? (At least pure frag movies, as opposed to projects like Quakemon ;))

And lastly there's a thing that's not subjective/matter of taste: adding content that was removed from Q3 to give QL the "T" rating, you're preventing your work from being included in QL update playlist.

Nowadays the updates happen rather rarely and are quicker than they used to be, but still they can give at least the first few videos a nice few thousands views for free.


[*] Mortal Kombat style: non-realistic, with body parts bouncing around without any physics, like they're rubber balls; with blood splats hovering in the air like there's no gravity; with skeletons and robots having at least few buckets of neon red blood hidden somewhere there.

I think it's just a subjective matter though and you shouldn't rate a movie 0 for what you think the moviemaker is going for. I have made different kinds of movies and I have used and not used gibs depending on the movie subtext. You'd understand that a movie called DEATH could use gibs, and would not use it for it's shock value but only for the aesthetic.

I already said what I think of the "aesthetic". Has nothing to do with death or how blood and guts look, especially if you're gibbing Keels!

Make a movie with bolts and springs and sheets of metal flying around like in One Must Fall: 2097. That will actually make sense in a game of shooting green robots.

Then again, I didn't see how "Death" had any relation to the content of your movie. What am I missing?

dont get why everyone is putting random LG frags into a movie. it's easy + boring. easy rail frags including is boring as well especially if they are just in coz someone "famous" got fragged. the airrockets were pretty nice music was kinda nice as well

Nice interesting content and editing. Music was boldly selected I must say. I suggest everyone download the movie, it's so much better quality and smoothness (youtube 30 fps vs avi 60 fps). And get correct aspect ratio next time, all models look short and fat :)
