Even though I'm the shittiest duel player ever (can still beat the likes of jamerio with my feet though), what duel does is make you think when playing therefore knowing what positions are better and that dying is not a good thing.
That can be found among duelers too. Playing +back makes you focus on thinking more than +forward so that's good advice for improving on the long run.
Plus aiming at duel is a lot harder than in ca (see heartless hitting half what he did before) and in the end duel players are on a level of their own, not comparable with regular ca players (lets say heartless is top10 in ca thunderstruck 1v1. He is top100000 in duel). For both reasons duel improves aiming in all mods as you are constantly pushed, especially when reaching the level in that the opponents actually know to play so it's a confrontation instead of 2 playing their defensive game.
See the amount of ca matches and the rest. He is doomed to be a permanoob, but more than that it shows that in 3-1 world (southamerica) clan arena killed quake.
"Plus aiming at duel is a lot harder than in ca (see heartless hitting half what he did before) and in the end duel players are on a level of their own, not comparable with regular ca players (lets say heartless is top10 in ca thunderstruck 1v1. He is top100000 in duel)"
You are so wrong.
First of all, I know many CA players that play duel and are actually good at it (+1750elo)
I also know many CA players that hit as hard at duel as at CA. But their timings and global strategies aren't as good as a regular duel player. So let's say they play a veteran duel player, they hit like 40%LG and 50%+ rail, but still lose, because, like i said already, they don't get as good tactics and strategy as the regular duel player.
Taking me as an exemple to prove that aiming at duel is harder than at CA is seriously retarded. How many games did I play on maps like bloodrun, aerowalk, furiousheights ? Probably 15-20 games for each maps, which is really low ammount of time played on these maps.
Give me like 500 games for each maps and my aim will just be as deadly as my aim at CA.
I remember when I played campgrounds only some years ago, I had like 1000games on it (which is still way less than the ammount of time i've spent playing thunderstruck), most of the time I out-aimed basically anyone.
It's only a matter of getting used to the positions and tactics, really, nothing else.
This is what he said. Aim in ca is a subset of aim in other modes therefore it's easier. Ofc you can learn it but "aim" means your efficiency at shooting ppl. Not talent or potential to learn it.
Skills in ca are a subset of skills required to play other modes. This is why ppl look down on ca (not ca players just mode itself).
yeah try to aim someone like beam at 1v1 CA, and then say to me that aiming at CA is easier :/.
aim is aim, whatever gametype you play. If you got good aim at duel, you'll get good aim at CA. If you got good aim at CA, you'll get good aim at duel (talking about 1v1 CA, not 4v4 CA.). If your aim at 4v4 CA is deadly, there is a high chance that it will be as deadly at TDM.
I'd probably hit more against Beam on thunderstruck than I would against worse players in duel. Aiming and dodging in duel isn't like thunderstruck, you don't have free rein to dodge and aim in any way you want and the best players can do both in spite of that limitation.
I love how I am always on your mind, grating at your ego until you cant contain it anymore and have to vent at my "expense" whether I instigate or not.
Accidently plussed :(.
Duel helps u to get more gamesense than CA. CA is just bashing people without thinking what is truely behind the game. But immo its not only duel FFA, Duel, TDM and CTF could help him in this case.
In these gametypes you are forced to use certain weapons, forced to position well if you want to outsmart people to keep your stack. So much more thinking goes on how to survive and what to do in certain scenario's.
In CA next round you spawn with 200 100 and u can start bashing no brain again.
I guess if that guy doesn't sense how to outsmart/outposition people and select weapons, he will stay tier 3 forever.
LOL. When I stepped into playing QL CA from playing just insta, I ran into guys like this in T3 with 1,000 to 2,000 games even then. I would always say, by god if I've got 1,000 CA games in and still in T3, it'll be time to quit. Because I suck at CA, it took about 1,200 games, but now I've got that gold bar thing and haven't seen T3 in ages.
Yeah to a certain level and then they dont improve anymore because they either dont give a fuck or hit a plateau which they wont overcome without analyzing their own game. For some it is maybe 900 elo and for others 1800 :O
hardly 900. The worst I saw over the years was still higher then a 900 elo dueller. most people can atleast reach 1500s easily and stay there, the plateau limit is 1500-1800 imo.
Just immature; rages constantly when you are in control and do 1 to 1 damage, and he continually dies. It doesn't seem to compute to him, so he just calls you every insult under the sun, then rage quits.
Don't know if it's the same account with a nick change, but he used to play under jonathanhewet16, so there may be even more game time hidden there as well.
He's had all profile stats reset (time/games/frags/shots). It's not that just playtime "wrapped", but all the main profile stats were zeroed at the same time (deliberately or not). Statistics/Arenas/Awards are left intact.
Took him 16 months to get Legendary (2000h of playtime), he was at 3,4 months in October 2011 and he's still playing around 20 hours weekly (that's the same as genuine's average). All this makes me think he's at like 6 months of playtime by now, nowhere near a full year.
Also, for a counter to wrap, it would have to be at some special boundary. Like a million. Or like 32 bits. Actually, 24 bits are enough to store almost 6,5 months of playtime, but who makes variables/fields in database 24-bit?
Also, there are awards for 5000 and more hours played. If those were ever tested in QA, someone had to fake a profile with more playtime that those 6,5 months.
All in all, I don't believe anything wrapped there because of playtime.
Hey, does anyone know what happened to bambamBOOM? That guy used to play 60 hours weekly back in 2009-2010 when I started.
Hi this is GenUinE i have a broken computer and broken mouse and 2 broke ribs and im still playing and fragging the heck out of everybody so stop hating and its my 2nd day and go easy. Love you all! }}}}}}
i've 8000 game played and around 2 months of time played (and i've "lost" my old account for inactivity) ,as you said its maybe shared from an internet coffee and played by 12 yo kids
edit: uhm he has italian flag but plays on american servers
Did you guys ever think maybe he doesnt spend hours tweaking his config, buying the latest mouse, buying giant mouse pads, using a low sensitivity, winjoining, using bastard commands like timenudge, or buying expensive 120hz monitors or using a crt.
Maybe he just plays the game for fun? I wouldnt look down on the guy for just playing the game for fun. This guy is a paying person for this game and sometimes he is even a nice guy, but you all want to make an entire thread belittling him? yea, keep blaming id software you knuckleheads.
plussed. This thread is just a bunch of nerds trying to make themselves feel better. Have you guys considered the fact that quake is the only game he plays? I bet a lot of ppl on this thread play many other games besides quake and almost accumulate to the same amount of time spent.
i'm not hating on him, everybody is free to spend his time as he wants.
i just think it's a considerable amount of time i couldn't even imagine to play.
It's because the kid obviously has passion for the game. I want him to become good, use that energy for duel or some mode that matters OR become a real beast in clan arena and rage scrubs.
I was a real shitter at quake a long time ago too, played on 30 fps all day everyday on 60hz monitor (CRT, but I didn't know fuck all about fixing it)
I still managed to win duels with 17 percent accuracy rail and 10 percent lg, this was when I had to use my brain to win, so I was fucking fantastic.
But then someone taught me commands and I got a real mouse and started to rape everyone with aim and style.
Being at the PEAK in anything you do is key to success in life. Try to become the best possible you for anything you do.
No holding back, no excuses, no fear.
Just go and measure yourself against the world, improve yourself. Be a man, not a boy.
letīs all add this guy and try to make him better. i'd be so sorry if he wasted that much time and didnīt even get close to understanding the game obviously.
Genuine is likely older than all of you, and has been playing quake for longer than most all of you, if what ive been told is true.
he also joins games just to spectate, sometimes for the whole night, and when he actually joins and plays, he will leave in the middle of games pretty often. so there's a potential reason for sub par elo. granted, with the amount of time he has actually played, i would think he may have made improvement beyond what he has thus far, but then again, some people dont take this game seriously enough to build up their aim through practicing and changing obvious mistakes.
he does spend a lot of time online, but im pretty sure the majority of the play time that you guys see in his profile is him idling in a server in spectate, because thats where i see him the majority of the time i see him online.
That is soooooooooooooooo wrong i play all the time dont ever condensend me. I might be spec like 30 mins max out of a week. I play 10 to 12 hours a day plus. The only time i leave is to eat or spend a little time with a lady friend. Hope that is okay also. Im not trying to be the best player in the world just to have fun with my old equipment. But look out new stuff on the way. Good luck peeps see u around. GenUinE
This is his new account. Well, I don't know if it's new or not but I saw him talking to someone the other day and bragging how id can't ban him or some shit. I don't know.
I do know that it appears genuine account was banned right before this one become active according to the chart.
So... now you guys can track him again! HOORAY ( ._.)
