r u stupid?
in metroid fusion the first things in each stage you see the mission room and a save point ... always the same thing ... no grappling hook like in super metroid, much smaller game world than super metroid, in short a vastly inferior game in comparison to super metroid
The first Metroid Prime on the GC had the perfect storyline, feel, music, atmosphere. Sure, there was a lot of backtracking but you got used to it and once you did you were in for a real treat.
I loved the second as well, but it just wasn't as good as the first. Never played the 3rd one on the Wii so I can't really say.
they say the 3rd part is the worst, but I didnt play it so far, but I own the metroid prime collection, maybe I come around playing it some day ... but first gottta play the 2nd part, most people say the 2nd part should also be quite good like the first part
played the beginning of symphony of the night and watched some lets plays of it ... cant understand why it is so popular, imho. in comparison to metroid its just a suxxor game ...
dont why people even draw the comparison, only similarity is maybe non linearity but thats about it. And the gameplay of symphony of the night is just shit.
Nice! I'm going to be buying Metroid Prime 3 and other M for the Wii. Seems a shame that I have a Wii but the only game I played and completed on it was Zelda Twilight Princess haha.
Although I'm tempted to actually softmod my Wii so I can play every Nintendo game ever made on one platform since Nintendo have gone full retard in the hardware stakes.
the gamecube controller is really great (normally i hate consoles). and the wii version (metroid prime triology 1-3) should be cool too with the wiimote controller i read.
softmod hm, never heard of that, thanks for the tip.
Yeah I used to own a GC and I always loved its controller, dare I say superior to the Nintendo 64. A lot of people had a gripe about the c analogue stick and how small it was, but I got used to it fine especially in fps games like Timesplitters.
My friend has the 3rd Prime for the Wii and he said no matter how much he tried, the Wii remote was just not as good as a standard controller. Doesn't take anything away from it apparantly being epic or so he told me :D
About the Softmodding, go look it up on Youtube. My friend did it and it seems awesome.
I recently bought other m used for like 10 euros or something, but didnt play it so far ... but general opinion is that its not so good ...
maybe a 70 % game, i.e. mediocre
metroid1 and metroid2 are the worst 2d metroids I think,
didnt play them, but played all the other 2d metroids ...
but its the conclusion I draw from lets play videos I watched to common reviews I read ... even played the metroid1 when I beat zero mission it got enabled as bonus and I could play it (not that it would have been a big hassle to download a nes emulator and the metroid 1 rom, but still) ... 1st part is too repeteive, and frustrating, and not diverse enough, but still it has the basic metroid design layout and as such I respect that titile, but if you compare it to super metroid .... well ... things dont look so good
>metroid1 and metroid2 are the worst 2d metroids I think
maybe. i had an c64/amiga and if i compare the first metroids/castlevanias to these early 2d plattformers on c64/amiga its like a revolution in controls. it just blow me away how good the controls work, the freedom in movement i have, you know. super meatboy comes in mind.
>I recently bought "other m" used for like 10 euros or something
yep, recently i bought it new on ebay for 10 euros. funny is, i saw the game in a real console shop for like 50 euros :D
just yesterday I made my 3rd run of super metroid ...
played also the previous week metroid zero mission and metroid fusion ... also playing the rom-hack super metroid redesign ...
super metroid is the best metroid game ever ...
maybe only followed by super metroid redesign, but trust me, you shouldnt touch redesign until you are really hardcore ...
zero mission is quite linear, too easy, only the last boss fight might be a challenge, zero mission is better, but a bit too easy.
metroid prime is also pretty good, but its a fps,
and not as good as super metroid imho. in terms of fun/challenge
I watched his run of super metroid ...
but I don't what is there so much to love about ...
he uses glitches in the game, only possible to use with these tools ... slows down emulator speed to make the best possible moves, etc. ... not much too love about that ...
nice to see what tas can do, just out of curiosity, but not really a pleasure watching
last boss is actually wrong, the boss before the last boss samus-x ... at least he is pretty hard the first time you play the game ...
I didn't play without any walkthrough (mainly because you just don't need one for this game), so probably didn't have many energy tanks and maybe not the best beam ...
Oh yeah, forgot about this! Did any of you guys ever complete Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime and then hook up your gba via a special adapter to the GC and you could then use Samus's fusion suit in Prime.
I remember doing this and actually marveling at how amazing it looked on the GC and the great thing about it was as you upgraded your suit just like in fusion the suit itself would change so it wasn't just the starting Fusion suit throughout.
