i think 2v2 tdm would be 100x better choice than ca. any map can turn to absolute junk if teams arent cooperative. also ca is retarded

We are happy to see how things work out with CA. It's very popular among the more mainstream players, so welcoming them to a more competitive stage is a welcome addition to Quake Live imo.

The simple answer is that Twitch hasn't allowed us to do so yet (afaik). We will talk to TosspoT to see if it is possible (or that we are simply doing something wrong in settings).

Few Possible Improvemtns to the site, bearing in mind i havnt tweaked with any options etc so some things might be already in place etc hehe

-In the players checked in list etc, rank by elo, or atleast by the 'level' so a guy can go in and see who is good, who is his level etc, and it shows off the so called 'big names' in the comp alot better rather than scrolling through.

-Perhaps have links to the game the player is in so its easier to join players ur not friends with on ql? Dno if this is possible ofc but that would be a big improvement if u could see a link to the game the opponent joins.

-brackets with different colors so that u can see who u could potentially play in certain rounds, ie everyone who could be potentially in 'quarter final 1's name is red, everyone who could potentially be in 'quarter final 2' is blue etc, cause when i try to look at who i could be up against its annoying that i have to click across to get to certain parts and its a hassle.

-features more on the profile like, highest ever place finish, money won from faceit etc

for 2v2, I would remove hell's gate and asylum and add canned heat + eviscerated. is this pool going to be universal for both 2v2 and 4v4? guess it would be more interesting to have different pools for each.

In terms of maps, hoq has a really decent mapppool. To orientate oneself there is a good choice for 4v4. The 2v2 pool yesterday was really nice plus the right amount of maps to remove. Gj there guys.

I still dont understand why you keep hektik instead Tox? Few last votes competitions tox won against hektik. Check Qlrank stats, tox is 5 times more played, more top players love it. It's a New map.

the map should be replaced for dm6 cause that map is the worst one in the pool atm for ql, not hektik, also using the reason 'its a new map' when asking to remove a map that is 5 years newer even still doesnt really make sense hehe

atleast change it with dm6.. but dm6 is here for temporary time, I think it will be changed with sinister soonner or later. Need slower maps...

well ideally u want a balance i spose, but say the pool was the ideal one (imo) it would be, dm13, ztn as 2 slow maps, t7, silence as 2 medium maps, and hektik aero and tox as 3 faster maps, dont rly know why that isnt the map pool already anyway D:

why do we need 3 faster maps rather than 3 medium ones? fast maps tend to become tedious to watch.

from the "amount of frags per match" point of view, then t7 is also a slow map, since in tournaments (LAN-tournaments I checked) t7 reaches down with the number of frags to a ztn or even dm13 (not quite though). Silence on the other hand is almost as fast as the "fast" maps mentioned
I aggree 100% with the choice of maps, but I see t7 as a slow map. (I even rembmer 1:0 games a few years back, with spartie camping some spot on the map)
so it would be 3-1-3 not 2-2-3... anyway, thats just subjective
I personally think that atm there is NO better 7-maps-mappool then the above mentioned.

CA without promode is camping BS

Our team spent over 30 minutes trying to register for the 4x4 cup on Thursday and it was just not possible using the extremely bugged faceit website.

Possibly one of the worst coded websites on the internet.

it's a test cup, we're just starting into team modes, we need people to have these errors and to report to us instead of randomly crying everywhere :D

Sorry for all the problems. We are testing everything, hence the name of the tournament and the reason we are in beta. Now we know what to fix to give the same experience for teams as we do for duel. I hope you understand we work hard to give you guys something nice to play in and we're not doing it for the money.

hmm for the 2 v 2, it wasnt amazing but it worked out OK

for 4on4 it was way worse. like we had to create new accounts coz our team couldn't be removed manually. there's a lack of badly needed features for admins imo.

points what didn't work for us (again like on monday for 2on2)

jwzr wasn't able to press the checkin button for like 20 mins even on serveral different browsers

in general the system that every player has to click on checkin isn't the best imo. if there is a team captain give him the rights to signup + checkin the whole team.

some kind of team management would be nice so you can kick some1 who won't play. like today team was full with 4 ppl + signed in and one of us dodged so we needed a sub. i wasn't able to just remove him from the team neither i was able to create a new team so we had to create and register new accounts which can't be the best way :)


not really sure what the whole cup system especially the admin system including rights to edit cup stuff will look like but it wasn't working well today

Cheers. Will be looking to change stuff around now we know how it reacts (or doesn't react at all). I personally agree that it's best that the team captain can check-in for the entire team, but it needs to be discussed internally and see if the API allows it (as data needs to be tracked from QL for all players).

This test cup gave us a lot of good info. The first duel cups didn't go flawless either, but after some tinkering I think we have a top notch platform for that. We will be fixing bugs and developing features to do the same for team gametypes.

I just watched it and the more laid back casting was pretty good. a real contrast with faceit zoot forcing jokes and repeating the same things over and over again

btw can points/money be assigned to other accounts as me and jwzr got points from the 2on2 cup and had to create new account for the 4on4 cup and got points/money on these accounts as well

I will try to be objective as i can be about this.I hope admins and headguys @ FaceIT will read this and think about it. Also , anyone else.

I know that many people do not care about lower level faceit cups, but i feel the need to write this here, as i cared today.


- Today i got "disqualified" from level 6 faceit cup under some obscure circumstances.

- I will start at the start. A month or so ago, friend of mine who plays QL invited me to play again after maybe 2 years of my inactivity. (We used quakelive offline client and made our own servers). We played a bit, then i got hooked again at the game so decided to buy premium cause i was following all the big tournaments on streams and faceit cups etc etc.

- When i tried to log in with my account from 2 years ago... which is "rmd_" i couldnt, and i couldnt even make one with same name because ironicaly its been taken, by someone from my own country (at least flag says so) in january this year. Zoot told me they dont ban accounts for inactivity but i dont know how this have happened.

- So i made totally new account (name easymode_ ) and waited for my visa to come for 5 days so i can pay for premium and do some online cups. Got FACEIT account and did some games etc. And signed for my first cup, it was level 8 couple days ago, i was level 4 at that time. I played through whole cup with no problems, lost in my 2nd game.

- Got level 6, and elo about 1500+ soon and i signed for today's level 6 cup.

- Got to the finals. I had 1st problem with a player in semifinals who accused me of being a cheater when friend of mine who is regular in these cups connected during one of our maps. He accused me of being him and faking because i have only 12 hours played time.

- In finals, other finalst gives me link to his game. He is from poland and gives me spanish server, i enter, he has steady 50ms, i have 80ms with spikes, so i refuse to play and i want to call admin. Then he proceeds to flame me, to say i am someone else, faking, cheating etc. And i tried contact admin throughout this, but Roychez didnt respond on faceit website.... and 10 mins later, during all the arguing on the server... i get removed from brackets. Apparently other guy managed to get admin and somehow convince him to remove me.

- I connected to mIRC and asked for admin there, Insan3 responded. And he told me that if player has less than 24h time played he cannot participate in the cup. I checked the rules and it was not in the rules. Here is piece of log

1) If i am not the first who got removed from the cup for this reason. Why there is not anything in the rules?
2) If i agreed to play on Spanish server with ping disadvantage right of the bat, i would not be removed probably.
3) Guy who i beat 21:0 in semifinals won that cup :/

My goal here is not to flame anyone, just to point out the flaws of this system. I tried to explain that i am not a new player, not faking, was willing to provide any kind of proof, but they simply decided to remove me.

it all makes sense. the site is still in beta and mistakes do happen. as Ins apologised I wouldn't think much more of it. keep playin'!

to conclude

1) Im fairly sure id seen/heard of that situation b4 even if its not in the rules, and also agree that you should be removed from the cup, even if u are legit account and not cheating (although if its not actually in the rules then u probably shouldnt).
2) Thats like saying if you get pulled over for speeding, and uve got 1000 pills, some stolen handguns and a couple kilos of pot, ud not have been caught if you werent speeding. At the end of the day, theoretically you should have been removed earlier, and it had nothing to do with the spanish server thing.

At the end of the day, the faceit guys have to make it as fair as possible to ALL competitors, and if that means ruining the comp for 1 player then so be it. When u have 1 day on your account, which will definately not take long, ull be ready to play, and by the sounds of things do well! SO get your time done and get fragging! :>

Only issue i have with it... is that it should be implemented in the rules somehow, because it sucks to be removed like this. But mainly writing this so i dont be branded as some acccount faker or some shit like that.

i hope the rule is the same for CA or for an other TeamMode than. Not that the Admins forget this :D

Which is pretty funny because I'm pretty sure that's exactly what mikimer and his friend are doing. I would bet my money on YoJJi being the one playing the cups for him.

First of all I played what I'll call the real mikimer a lot of time, not only the guy can't even play with a decent ping (only playing on ITA with 80 ping or something) but he is also genuily bad (timing, positionning and whatnot) and on top of that a real idiot, if you play defensively you're an +back noob, if you play aggressively you're a rushing idiot but I digress.

Now the thing is that they don't even try to hide it :

Of course it isn't exactly irrefutable proof, but you have to admit that it's pretty fishy. He could be legit and maybe getting a proper connection/equipment just for playing the cup, but even if it's the case I don't think he is limited only by hardware and connection, as I said previously he just doesn't seem to be that good.

Just to explain why I'm throwing YoJJi out there, it's because they are from the same country, YoJJi is a bit of an idiot too (used to be an arrogant tierslummer at least) and he always dropped a "GG mikimer =)" comment on a French quake website when they post the results of the faceit daily cups. And of course YoJJi is actually a good dueller (1700+ ELO) so it wouldn't be too hard for him to compete in a lvl 6 cup.

i played some games against mikimer and i don't think he can win against a 1500+ elo, no way.
It's true he has 80 ping on italian servers and he plays only there because it's his best ping, i suppose.

I just know yojji is full of shit and mikimer thinks a deathadder will buy him aim, I'll ask him about this, seems fishy enough
