March 16th, 2013, is going to meet us with an invitational 16 slots Duel Tourney "Quake Renaissance". We're going to send out 12 direct invites, the other 4 slots are open for those who manage to get top places on qualifying tourneys taking place on March 2nd and 9th. Tourney will be organized by deliberate murder and is privately sponsored.
The main tournament will be played as a 16-player bracket. Full double elimination - that means the play who gets to the Grand Finals from lower bracket will have to win two sets in order to get Gold. All the upper bracket matches are Bo3, lower are Bo1. The Grand Final is Bo5. Regarding the qualification tournaments, they are single elimination tournaments - Bo1 until Quarter Finals+ which are played as Bo3. Both finalists will qualify to the main tournament, winners will be awarded with stronger seeds.
If a player doesn't show up for a match within 15 minutes, they will be given a defloss and his enemy will advance forward. After each match, players should inform referees about their match result.
Matches can be played on any European server. Ping difference shouldn't be higher than 20ms. If that is the case then players can refuse to play on a server. If players can't find a server by themselves, they should ask a referee what to do. Server can be changed during the match, different maps might be played on different servers. The match can be restarted in case one player got dropped from the server before the timer reached 02:00 - but only if his opponent doesn't have problems with it.
Any side software is forbidden, and if somebody is using it they will be disqualified and banned. Every player should record all the demos and send it to referees if needed. If a player can't provide a demo, game can be replayed or player might be disqualified.
None of the directly invited players are able to take part in any of the qualifiers.
we've got 8/12 invited players already (7 here and + Spart1e), sending out 4 more (and waiting for answers). and 4 ppl can get a place in two qualifying tourneys (March 2 and 9)
this is gonna be sick. the only thing I'd like to see is people being forced to play completely new map pools. sadly good maps are rare to non-existent so that isn't feasible and the cooller and avek won't show up if ztn is out of the pool
tourney sounds sick, my flight is 17th or 16th of march, so doubt ill play so obv i declined the invite, but if it turns out i could actually play (ie flight is late on the 17th and i still had all my shit settup) then ill play in the qualifiers! hehe (reason i dont know is i accidentally deleted the email from flight company so i need to look for the paper copy i have somewhere here or email them.. haha)
apparently u need to have flight booking number to check on the site, and im too lazy to call anyone, my mum has the details so i messaged her, and shes emailing me sometime soon with it again hehe thanks for the advice tho :>
And the last invite goes toooooooo.... Guard. But I still hope to see such a great players as twister, matr0x, uaReaper and many others on our qualifying tourneys. It's March 2 and 9, don't forget plz.

I wonder how Cooller's gonna play against Cypher - they both showing some heavy downshift in QL lately, but seeing both of them clashing lamely against each other would be the most entertaining show of all. Cypher's got upper hand though - at least he won one map of 5 against Strenx in froggy's yesterday hilarious stream. Bitchpussy (or 'bitch vs pussy') stream, as I suppose we can all call it now:).
Btw - Strenx is the only serious contender to Evil out there now.
Cypher is not showing a downshift, he was never an online hero, and losing in the Bo1 stage is so easy. Cypher won games so many times from 0-2, but this also means he very often gets 2-0 down in a Bo5.
