I think because I wanted to include a few defaults for changing in case someone used the config as as template (it was from a template config that I have) whereas I wish to discourage the changing of m_yaw :-)

If people only change m_pitch then we can still easily discuss their sens if they don't provide us with their m_yaw by assuming it is 0.022.

So I slept on this important issue and I actually I think it does make sense to include m_pitch since it's somewhat common to have a different value for it than m_yaw. Well done.

r_texturemode gl_nearest doesnt give me a single fps on intel graphics. Just for the record.

It didn't for me either. I thought I had removed it but I guess I forgot.

The thing is that the "performance" preset changes texturemode to gl_nearest_mipmap_nearest, and I wanted to include all of the performance preset cvars in addition to the cvars that I had put in. I figured that maybe they did some special testing, or knew that one was less work for the machine than another.

Really though, texturemode probably just doesn't make any difference. Neither does picmip, and a bunch of other cvars that most might think would do something.

Increasing picmip up to 3 does make a difference here. Anything higher than that is the same though.

It didn't when I tested it. picmip 0 vs. 10 was identical within margin of fluctuation.

It depends on your graphics card. You can safely assume that mine (intel graphics 4500MHD) Is one of the crappiest that can run ql @ 125 fps (only in 1v1 and not on all maps).

Isn't there a preset in QL options called High Performance? This is probably as good as it gets.

It should give a decent FPS boost for those in need. I would be surprised if additional tweaks, aside from maybe s_mixahead, give a substantial gain.
