Hello, I am zoot.
I am trying to sound like one of those really serious professional voice actors who are really serious and professional. Too bad for me, they actually have great voices, their flow is bang on and their intonation so precise you get shivers when they read articles about knee surgery.
I'm not one of these people.
But hey, why would I give a fuck, I get flown to italy ever weekend. ESPOOOORTS \m/
while it's harsh, there's some truth to it, I'd advise them to be more natural and just have fun, don't listen to those trainers too much, if they were as good as they said they were, they'd be earning 5 times as much in a good position
as long as the crowd loves it, well, I shouldn't judge so much, I'd just love to see a bit more on the analysis side
It is harsh, there's no denying that. Can't be bothered to get my point across another way especially as I hadn't watched faceit in months and came back to hear audio issues and both casters significantly worse than back when they were trying to find their style.
There was some shitty vst poudlard wizardry (c)mah big cyborg baaaawls done yesterday on zoot's voice for a commercial/break/thing video that sounded like utter shit... but still worked better than his actual voice in this top5 vid.
I got really annoyed with the casting recently, but I dont think zoot is the problem.
He improved a lot after Adroits lan and when I heard him with ins 3 weeks ago (I think), he had very good moments, kept his voice down and had good thoughts on the game and tactics.
FaceIt seems to be the problem. Both ddk and zoot now sound like lobotomized idiots overdosed with antidepresives. I would like to know whos idea was this "yell, describe whats happening on the screen and try to sound as excited as you possibly can" style. Someone probably thinks theyll get more viewers that way and that its gonna keep the random people who are coming by (thanks to twitch main page) interested.
It totally doesnt work for me and the Someone should realise Joe & 2GD werent so popular for this kind of casting.
To be fair, considering all the hacks who get by in other communities doing that shit I can't really blame them.
I'm just sick of all the disneyland family friendly stuff, lost too many people to that show when they noticed people were actually watching their videos.
There's no color commentator on that combo and both seem to be avoiding that role.
It's about time both or at least one goes further than explaining what's on the screen and what's the next item coming up. Obviously tosspot was a major influence on their styles, but he did it like that because he is not an expert on the game so he went for the generic stuff, whereas zoot and ddk are so they can be better than him when casting the qvaks.
edit: Here's the perfect example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdkDjsBiO58
Everyone praises that video like it is the most insightful thing ever, with tons of preparations and whatnot. What people forget is that 2gd did it better than that when casting the same match live, no preparations. I want zoot and/or ddk to get as good as this (1:04:00 for context, 1:16:00 for the actual match): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6NuMyXw1Hs
Both for stream/casting and this movies.
edit: I'm free this weekend xoxo <3~~~
