during watching 10 minutes i thought i downloaded a wrong demo or something ...but when i saw the last 4-5 minutes i saw the best actions on fatal1ty ever! big gg to socrates (i didn't know he could be so strong to beat fatal1ty from the 2:10 and 5 minutes to the end...)
hm
i feel really sorry for fat on this one
he really played perfect for about 10 minutes, but he was too self-confident as he tried to camp it out for the last 4-5 minutes
he could have had success, but he didnt just run away as he probably have should
instead, he tried to kill soc with RL in the narrow sideways, but he simply couldnt do it because soc always had 100 200 and a very good shaft
too bad, i would have liked it to see fat in korea, but it seems not :(
thx to magician for the demo, also to mr. lemmy de if22 for the others - nice work!
What if fat would have got 4 seconds to finish soctrates in the end? :) Why am I even thinking that. It's the fucking end and there are no 4 seconds :P.
He didn't deserv the win, nor did he work hard for it, fat handed it out to him. soc got pwned in the 1st 10 mins, then Fat must of had a 'blue screen error' in his brain, cause there was no way soc would of been a serious threat, tbh. =)
@ stony this was the first off 2 matches to be played to see who's in the winners or losers bracket for WCG USA . Of the 4 contenders who are playing this final round only one doesnt get to go to korea . Fat still has a change
Hhhmm, i just watched the demo and fat started playing defensively with 4 minutes to go and an 8 frag lead. To me that's a good strategy on T2 (if you look at the fazz vs cooller demo that was posted on ESR recently you'll see fazz stalls for 5 minutes with a lesser winning margin) but failing to delay the respawn cost him the game.
For instance at 12:30 minutes he still had a seven frag lead so if he'd delayed the respawn (you were allowed 10 seconds in this tourney i think) every time he died from that point on he would have given socrates only 1:30 minutes to get those seven frags back, which would have been a near impossible task.
I don't understand what was going on in his mind... should have kept going for as long as he could control the map, THEN start running. There was one point exactly where he could have gone for the YA but seemed to say to himself, "Hmmm... I think I'll just run now". Yet another match to go in fat's book of biggest failures.
Yeh whilst i said that fat should've won, socrates did make some great shots to come back. Crucial one was an air-rocket after both had just respawned with scores at 11-6 and a couple of minutes to go.
dunno why there are so many comments here, this demo was horrible. especially from this POV; fatal1ty played incredibly stupid. and there was no 'awesome' aim or anything like that, either. fatal1ty screwed up worse than HORWINKLE, does that make this a good demo or something?
Hm, don't know what happened there, maybe just a miscalculation on fat's side. But being a book-keeper of a winning-margin was never a good policy IMHO
D00d, how can you just say "fatal1ty played incredibly stupid"? He's one of the smartest players I've ever watched, and I think he knew exactly what he was doing. Well, maybe he didn't know that EXACTLY ;p (miscalculation!). Oh, and he had a really unlucky spawn about 14 min!
Also, his aim was VERY impressive for me, especially the shaft. Socrates had nice RL and quite often fatal1ty was flying in the air, but he was always able to hold the crosshair right between Soc's eyes.
Of course Socrates played very very good, but IMO fatal1ty should have won this match.
Well but he lost. So his "exact" tactic wasn`t that exact. Since his 10th frag he somehow played as if he did not want to got to korea. Pherhaps his sponsors told him that they will not pay his journey ? and when you watch his moving, you can easily see that he got fuckin nervous at the end ..
I agree that fat should definitely have won this match, but he really messed up his strategy at the end of the game and he knows it. He didn't even bother saying "GG" at the end. I can just imagine him wanting to scream.
I agree totally... it looks like there's one point in the match where fatal1ty suddenly says to himself, "I think I'll turn OFF now...", and does...I'd like to see an interview with him to see what he says about this.
