Go to Twitch website and look up their rates. Assume Russians add a few thousand (1-2k, don't know exactly, but exact number doesn't matter) to the viewer count.

Now I bet you the money we are talking here is peanuts. I probably spend more on fast food over an average weekend. Compare that to the cost of flying in 1-2 casters to Milan from abroad.

i don't think it's about the numbers, i think it's about creating a Faceit brand. The Russians aren't allowed to stream Faceit affiliated cups because Faceit want to control the quality associated with their name.

I don't know about the faceit part but sulit is one of the best streamers hands down. Comes close to Joe Miller with his casting style.

and yes its true, league of legends and dota only have got so much players, because u dont need much skill to bee good in the game. to be called a pro gamer in such a game is just redicilous, how long do you need to be quite good in the game?! maybe 2-3 months. in quake u need alteast 3-4 years practise and experience to be top on the game. moba games are for pussys. quake was and always be the best e-sports game ever because it requires the most skills.

go pro in dota then. waiting to see you on a team in 2 months

i was more referring to league of legends, i can say that because i've played it by myself. the main reason why it is so easy, is because u dont need to learn any movement or aim or whatsoever, u just need to click to move ur champ. sure u need to learn the champs, the lanes the items, the positions and also the strategies, but overall i still say quake needs way more effort and skills to master the game, i have no idea about doda because ive never played it, but im sure its at least harder t learn then legue of legends.

Chess is so easy lol you just need to pick up the pieces and move them around. Where is the skill in that?! Need no aim at all to kill anybody, so random LOL. Just need to learn how the pieces move and the strategies, that's all there is to it.

stomping noobs before playing ranked is not a valid experience

im lvl 25 and mostly play adc, but i dont play it often, i play it sometimes with a friend. ofc in ranked game the players are better, but not that much, in the beginning u just need to last hit and in the middle game there are teamfights, not much what u can call skill. its all about click click click, it actually looks funny when u watch an player playing lol, every half second he clicks the mouse. so i can say lol is a noob game unlike quake

Rofl sry frannatic but that ain`t true ;). Especially dota probably requires at least 500 games to get kinda decent at the game and the average game length is around 30 min (could be wrong). Well it is true way easier to pick up the game but mastering it?

plus dota is a team game and has much more variables. timing, combining attacks togehter imho requires a totally different skill level. but the good thing is, i never played lol, played dota2 once hehe :D only thing i liked was footy in wc3 and some dota once a month.

500 games to get decent? are you kidding me? if you have any experienced friends or willing to read guides/watch a ton of vods it shouldnt take "that" long to get good at the game. max 50 games for any gamer who has a background in older games and you should have mastered most of the controls, quickbinds, etc. the game is 99% about knowledge and learning which you dont even have to play the game for, recognizing situations and general awareness.

its hilarious when back in the days when dota was still quite new, it was just a fun past time to relax yourself with something easy to do while you felt like you didnt have enough concentration to play real wc3 games. now its a fucking e-sport lols. its a bit of the same as in quake, when you dont feel like playing duel you just go jump around in ca. in the end CA sucks most of the playerbase because its so easy and it becomes the new standard. luckily we arent at that point with QL quite yet

dota was one of the old games i spent a bit of time with, starcraft and team fortress being among them (and regular quake ofc) and out of those 3 its of course dota2 which keeps the gameplay quite intact (i guess it was easy enough already) and adds functionality etc from the new decade while tf2 and sc2 have gone the reverse route where they change the gameplay to fit the new generation. zzzz fuck tf2. well atleast ql gameplay is still intact, i just wish id didnt quarter-ass bringing it to the next century

I can't see anything wrong with asking him here, since blaze is mostly active around Dreamhack announcements. If he doesn't want to "kill/feed our suspicions" he can just, you know, not answer.

I think we should be faithful in that they'll take the best decision they can providing all the great minds behind the Dreamhack staff and all the love they have for Quake. Why try to know the info before they can assure anything? They'll release in a proper time so they won't have to step back with their word, I'm sure of it.

That said, we should be thankful for Dreamhack either way for hosting Quake there for all these years.

Sorry, I can't say much. I'm not a part of the Dreamhack HQ which makes the decisions. So I can't either say yes or no, sorry.. The best way to trying to influence them would be by sending an email to esport@dreamhack.se and somehow convince them that the Quake community is ready to play on LAN again.

There won't be any quake this summer. Or at least they haven't contacted us about it.

It was deserved though. While it is true that online quake revived, in the end players will continue being assholes (blaze posted they finally couldn't stand no-shows anymore) and it won't draw more than 5k viewers, which is nothing these days.
