I agree with this actually. would be interesting to see how the 'style' compares to today's players.

Fatal1ty had one of the most spectator-friendly setup, his sensitivity was really low with a discrete acceleration, resulting in smooth turns of directions and not really twitchy aim corrections/ mouse replacement; some players gives you headache after 5 mins, particularly Rapha i would say, constantly skipping with his very high sens/acceleration;
Fatal1ty was really immersive and easy to spectate.

the standard has increased a lot. For example the last 2 weeks of killsen's play just destroy every single frag he ever did.

1. Fat got roflstomped in all other tournaments
2. Even 2gd put his reputation on the line to say that tournament and final was void, as some of us thought before he did that interview.
3. Fat plays quake live, but dodges all possible ways of comparison with other players.

But anyway, I don't see fat pulling off a killsen-like frag against top players in a year.

It's strange he doesn't alredy have at least one, especially considering that, contrarily to what one could think, he regularly does sick frags, pure aim frags.
Additionally he has some class dodging moments, or out of control rushes;

In my opinion, a Rapha fragmovie should include many tactical moments, moments in which he sets up his traps with the grenade launcher etc., and those fights that lasts longer than 10 seconds, in which he dodge around corners etc, leaving the battle for a couple seconds, and then engaging again to finish an opponent that has not really clue to what to do anymore.... things like this.

After all, an aspect that often leaves me upset about fragmovies is that they usually shows only crazy aim moments, while in a game like this, and with such an experienced audience, i think they should show more often the tactical aspects of fighting, even if that could be a little tricky or tedious;
i would like to see more often energy/armour counters, perfectly timed droppings on items, smart rocket jumps to cut off distances and gain favourable positions from wich deal demage without much in return and stealing items, even if not immediatly followed by a frag;

I'm also favourable, to enchance the implemention of those refined and vastly underrated moments, to the use of a "fast forward" to switch to the final engange that leads to the frag/end timer.

And Rapha could be the ideal subject for such a fragmovie, it makes to come to mind a lot of surprising moves, like his tipical dropping to the 25 hp bubble in the wall on the lava in dm13, in the middle of the battle, to balance the armour excess and to use the bridge borders to cover and duck from lg, and finally jumping from one side to another one to reach the top of the bridge and finishing a disengaging enemy....

Or his countless dropping moments, when his opponents can barely see him between corners, floor borders, corridors and corners again, eating one defensive rocket after the other, maybe showing both the pows consecutively to better understand the moves.
Thing like this, there are really more opportunities than one could write there, and between those things you can intermediate with a double direct grenade on Cypher in ztn, or a bounce grenade/lg combo to Av3k, or a mg-only spawn frag to Dahang, so to also have the entertaining, refreshing aim-only moments.


Another frag movie that i would really like to see, is a Cypher one.
No, there isn't really already one.
His actual fragmovie is more a disrespect act to Cypha the Snypha, with an umbearable song, useless accelerated time, chaotic switching, and definitely poor choice of frags: hell, you can choose a random lan in which he partecipated, any one, and you can estract better frags than the ones in "his" fragmovie.
Cypher is the ULTIMATE fragmovie player, his style basically his a resemble of fragmovie style frags, he has THE BEST mind-blowning frags, with ANY KIND of weapon: he even has the best gl and plasma frags, his shotgun is priceless, his rl is an instrument, and about lg/rail... no comments required, with those two weapons he concretized top notch fragmovie material, not only for his at times gamma-top, non-plus-ultra aim, but also for the way he combines it with the way he moves and looks around, with the way he elegantly dodges and drops, jumps and closes the distances with, in his case, the PREY.

If you are searching for overall quality certified fragmovie frags, Cypher is THE choice, between the pros.
Also for his hystory and legacy, of course.
It is surprising that the community doesn't produce a Cypher fragmovie AT YEAR, every year and even more.
Have you seen Cypher 2007? I'm waiting for Cypher 2014... stuff like that, in every year he collects way more absolutely bludgeoning frags than what is required by a fragmovie.

And with him, you can even choose between Q3 OSP/ Q4 / QL eras.

He has countless frags that are begging for being putted toghether, even without any music at all, just to listen to the sounds... additionally, he even has probably the best spectator model, Rapha for exemple, uses Sarge that can be too loud for someone, but Ranger is perfect even more in third person.

And about his double, miles away, blind position, ON LAN air rockets hits, well, that piece should be included in ANY fragmovie, and i'm not joking too much, even other pro's fragmovies should include it, even random guys's ones should include it!
Maybe just after the final titles, at the very end (or at the very beginning) of the movie, without music.

Since the first LAN he won, one after another, it would show the clutch moments of every match of the playoffs!
And then, after the credits and the huge list of his achievements, on a Black Screen there's written in white "THE STRENX SPECIAL"
What follows is that Toxicity with synced strenx-whine instead of the usual sound. That would be so awesome and would be like 20+minutes of an epic fragmovie :D.

Mby it would be nice to see a TDM-fragmovie from a newschooler like juvenile or zyrinx...they always seem to have insane fragnumbers so I bet they have some great moments :)
