I tried the steelseries one, I found those too slippery. I found the best ones to be hyperglides. I use a cloth path and I find them the perfect resistance, and don't wear out our wear down (I think I've had hyperglides on this wmo for at least three years and their still perfect).
I got a mouse with Hyperglides and Puretrak HDs side to side at the moment.
I think hyperglides are better, a bit more slippery, but both are fine.
Puretraks dont glide at all the first hour you put them in, way slower than WMO default skates. Anyway they start changing to more slippery every hour you use them.
Theres not big differences after months of use. I would still go for Hyperglides. They got rounded edges while Puretraks dont, so you might save your mousepad surface some abuse, if you happen to use a soft one.
why? do the hyperglides and Puretrack HD's feel the same (after pre-worned and edges rounded) and you just like the feeling of the size for the hyperglides?
Hyperglides are a little bit faster and maybe even "smoother" in their glide after lets say 3 months+ of use.
Both of the mouses got the same shape glides as well, the typical WMO/IMO 1.1/IME 3.0 ones.
But honestly the differences are not big enough for me to even really care tbh. I made the "testing" by accident here, when breaking my WMO with Puretrak skates. Got out my old IMO 1.1 with hyperglides and now again using a new WMO with fresh Puretrak skates.
Also faster is not always better, I used to think that in mousepads, but have completely changed my mind.
Hmm I use mx518 hyperglides on their own... I always thought they were a bit too "short", but seems to be no problem if oyu dont press the mouse into the pad
puretrak are even thicker but im a bit afraid of not rounded edges. But dunno if it makes difference for cloth mouse pad.

" Lastly, you might wanna get some after-market mouse skates for it, unless it already comes with pure Teflon skates. Hyperglides are the best you can buy. Perfect Glide HD’s by PureTrak would be a good option, except for the fact that they have sharp edges and thus scrape your mouse pad, so yeah, don’t get them."
edit. accidentally I misslicked and ordered it via paypal xD
