I'm with baze on the gigabyte motherboard, but for a different reason, they are cheaply made, something goes bad on them before 2y in my experience.

also, if on xp, try ANIR's accel fix, small hook for mousedrv.sys or something. works the best on xp. maybe you have tried it, if it says mouse accel is DISABLED then it must be other mousedriver induced, or in mouse firmware, i don't think the mobo has a special driver for mouse in the usb handling.

The mouse is irrelevant because he tried 5 different mice.

try Plug and play OS [YES] in bios or something, maybe, just maybe gigabyte has some code when detecting mouse or something, does that board have EFI bios or not bios i guess.

seems it does use EFI bios, which is why it COULD have some mouse detection + driver, even when windows is loaded. I would personally try disabling everything i find related to MOUSE in the bios.

zowie ec1
razer lachesis

and with all of them i got that acceleration .

another interesting thing is i also had before this one a gigabyte mobo ( p45 chipset ...) and everything was fine with that one...

Can't you return it? or find a way to replace it with another one?

I cant return it nor replace it ,
but as i said i think it has some to do with the bios ,
if there's no suggestions then i will wait for the full bios update
though i doubt it will change any thing ( i updated to a beta bios version ) ....

meanwhile i 'quit' gaming till i find a solution for this problem ,

actually that mousemovement recorder isn't completely trustworthy, just because you see red or green doesn't mean you're accelled.

Also if you aren't using 6/11, you will get exactly these results.

This is very unlikely to have anything to do with the motherboard.

Well , i'm using 6/11 windows sense , so if it's not the motherboard
so what could be resulting that " skipping / acceleration " ?

could it be the cpu failure or something like that?

Can you post a link to that program, say on filedropper, it appears to be scarce because the one I downloaded doesn't have the red and green thing.

Without a picture it will be hard to know what might be going on.

Things to note:

- MMR will show red and green IN-GAME, and this is expected and normal for many games, but does not indicate accel.

- Sometimes there is a small delay between MMR seeing mouse movement and Windows seeing that same movement and that can show up as red or green in some cases. (MMR has extra command line options to help examine this if it happens, but we need to see the output first.)

- MMR only shows accel caused by the Windows Control Panel > Mouse Properties settings.
Accel added by mouse drivers (Logitech etc.) is not seen or shown by MMR.

- If you are technically inclined, when running MMR from the command line, you can capture output to a text file:

MouseMovementRecorder.exe > MMR.txt

(You won't see any on-screen display as that is going to the file, press Ctrl+C to exit recording.)

it is 100% trustworthy I say.
just dont touch the edges of your monitor with the cursor, that will cause acceleration reports. keep it inside the desptop.

Obviously if i touch the edges it will cause acceleration reports since there's a physical mouse movement but there's no pointer movement,

besides that , i'm running prime95 test for the cpu and simultaneously running the mousemovement recorder
and i'm getting some acceleration reports even in the desktop .

but i think i've read somewhere in the program text file that it's normal
to get some acceleration reports if the pc is really busy ...

you should NOT test while playing, do it on desktop....

MMR helps diagnose at least 2 things:

* Item 1 that MMR helps diagnose:
1) Has my fix removed Windows Control Panel accel caused by the 'Enhance pointer checkbox'

This test is described in the readme starting : "How do you know the fix is working?"

Do this test at the desktop, like h8m3 says (not in-game), and with 'Enhance pointer precision' checkbox temporarily turned ON.

Little or no green or red in that test (not in-game) means my fix is working.

(If you are curious, to see what it looks like without a fix, apply "Windows_7+Vista+XP_Default.reg", reboot and try the test: Lots of green when moving the mouse slowly (not in-game!) and red when moving faster than about 8 pixels/poll.)

* Item 2 that MMR helps diagnose:
2) Does a game turn EPP on in-game, and therefore does it need a fix?

This test is described in the readme starting : "Does my game need a mouse fix?"

Do this test in-game and look at the "EnPtPr" column, which will have a red background if the game turns EPP on and needs a fix.

While running test 2, the movement columns may also show red and green as you note, but that does not mean accel.
It just means that MMR is getting confused as the game re-centres the pointer, as described starting at : "NOTE: While running a game, you may see many red and green lines."

Looking at your screenshot, I don't see any Windows Control Panel accel. I do see the red and green probably caused by the game re-centring the pointer.

Having seen your screenshot, I don't need you to use MMR in recording mode, thanks.

Another question , i get less mouse acceleration when i limit my fps in cod4 to 125fps for example , but while i play with 250fps i get more fps so does that mean it's really has something to do with the cpu or gpu ?

I do not know why you even complain about accel when apparently you can't tell the difference by feel :/

i've been playing fps game for so so long ...

oh also i've tried to do 180 or 360 turns and obviously there's accel ...

When doing 180s and 360s, do you have positive accel or negative accel?

Positive is where a fast movement moves FURTHER (spins you more degrees) and a slower movement moves LESS.

Negative is where a fast movement moves LESS (spins you fewer degrees) and a slower movement moves FURTHER.

When doing 180s and 360s i get positive accel , but what makes it really weird is that i don't get that accel in each 180 or 360 i try to do , say it happens only once out of 5 times .

After reading again the readme.txt and your comments it actually makes sense , i also asked 2 friends of mine who play the same fps game i play to check their pcs with MMR and they got the same results i get .

Now i'll try my other optical mice to play with them for 1 hour and then i'll see if i get that " weird / inconsistent / accelerated mouse movement " , if it does then obviously it's my Logitech g400 got defected or something .
i'll try playing with mx518 / zowie ec1 and ill report back my experience .

Try to check latencies of DPC (deferred procedure calls) via DPC Latency Checker ( http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml ) That software uses μs - microseconds (1 ms = 1000 μs). It's internal computer lag. You can make it(this little lag) minimal by disabling HPET in bios.

MarkC Mouse Acceleration Fix ( http://www.esreality.com/index.php?a=post&id=1846538 ) makes windows mouse accel OFF and after applying MarkC Fix u will had measuring via MouseMovementRecorder without green or red strings. And main thing: if your game uses raw mouse input ENABLE it :) then you WILL NOT get any accel in game even if you have it in Windows. To enable raw mouse input in quakelive you need to set in_mouse 2. Also check mouse drivers via Driver Fusion or Driver Sweeper and delete them. Im sure mouse driver affects on mouse even when mouse in raw mode.

And by the way i'm sure your problem isn't in mobo. It's in the new OS.

Point is , i've tried to disable / enable every single option in the BIOS and nothing helps .
tried that HPET timer or whatever it is but it didn't help at all .

i will check my DPC latency later and i will update you about the results .

oh and i tried to delete my mouse driver and trust me nothing really works i even tried 4 different mice optical and laser mice and all of them got the same INCONSISTENT pointer movement ...
i even tried a plug and play mouse ( zowie ec1 ) and it also have
that instability...

- I highly doubt if it's the OS , because i've mentioned already that i had tried WINDOWS XP 32BIT , WINDOWS 7 32BIT an WINDOWS 7 64BIT.

with all of them i get that mouse lag / instability / pointer bug .

i repeat , this problem began only after i bought a new CPU . MOBO and RAM .

**edit : just tested my DPC latency and everything was just fine , nothing was above 180u...

Well , after disabling all the "POWER SAVING " options in the BIOS and reducing my mouse polling rate from 1000 to 500hz everything felt much more stable like i always used to .

reinstall usb driver from mobo (usb and usb 3 if you have both)
use ccleaner again

log off

log back on

test.

test in usb 2.0 and 3.0 if possible.

Make sure in quake live you have in_mouse -1 if you are using Mark C.

Put pre-rendered frames to 1 (nvidia) or flip-queue to 1 (ati via RadeonPro - 3rd party download).

For other games, cap fps close to your monitors refresh rate, but not close enough that you get dip.

Or you can just avoid all the hassle and buy a seperate USB 2.0/3.0 PCI-(E)card and connect your mouse to it.
