I think the music should correspond with visuals. Like I felt the 'epic' music was a perfect choice for manJu or Colosseum, because the movie was made with the thought they will use that kind of music. Same goes with Get Quaked 3 or -my personal favorite- w3sp strafes / f33l. Little did it matter it wasnt rock, the idm fit there perfectly.

If this movie had pink models and hipster glasses, it wouldve also went well with the music.

Not gonna rate this one, I watched half of it and spent 80% of that time listening to how bad the audio is.
I'm not talking about the songs, I don't even remember what they were. The audio is clipped, the ingame sounds distorted like shit, there's some weird sidechain compression that kicks in when the awful door slamming sample gets played... The sample is rarely actually on cue, most of the time it's trailing behind the hitbeep, but sometimes it's spot on or so late it's confusing. The ingame sounds keep trailing too.

One of the best frag movies I've seen for a long while - bearing in mind I base a frag movie on it's frag content, editing and music aren't a big concern of mine when watching these movies. I just wanna see raw skill and spectacular moments of aim. For this reason I greatly preferred this movie over the 102 one one post above - even though I'm a big fan of the 102 team. It's seems strange to me that the 102 movie is rated more highly than this?!
I would give this 9/10 and the 102 movie 7/10.

Hey guys, similar comment to what I wrote on 4sg, but first of all I wanna say thanks for watching the vid, and second thanks for leaving a comment, all feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Of course I know that the choice of songs is never going to please everyone, and I think most of the time its actually a case of picking songs that will annoy the least people, rather than ones that people will like, something that with hindsight probably could have been better hehe

In terms of quality of the video I thought it was certainly acceptable if not good, which isnt to say that improvements couldnt have been made. Unfortunately with the 102. frag vid being released at virtually the same time, there was an example of what professional movie makers can do - that movie really looked silky smooth, very high quality, very impressive editing and quality wise. Whilst on the subject of their movie however, although everyone is entitled to their own opinion, personally I think that the core material, ie the frags, were of a higher quality in ours.

I was somewhat dissappointed to see that a lot of the ratings and negative feedback stemmed from song choice (expected of course though! hehe ) and other things to do with the movie rather than the content - I didnt expect people to feel quite as put off by certain aspects of the movie as perhaps they did.

Personally when I watch this frag video, and any frag video really, the overall experience of the video for me is judged mainly on the frags. I'd like to think the frags that made up the video were at least on a par with most of the well renowned top videos over the years, at least in terms of frag vids made by single players - community/ team videos should really be better quality as you have more players to take demos from!

The cfg, quality, editing and music simply serves in a similar way to a good cfg while you're playing in my opinion - the mark of a good cfg while playing is one that doesnt impede your ability to play, and I think the same applies here, the quality and choice of songs (in my opinion anyway ;) ) was not to the point where it detrimented the video. (personally I think they worked quite well)

Again I'd like to say a huge thankyou to Reuben, I think he did a fantastic job with what experience he has, and it has been a large learning curve for both of us. I look forward to hopefully being able to collect enough frags for another video, which will probably be easier than this time, as with retrosepct I too believe the video could have been about 9 minutes and it would have worked better hehe

I am proud of the video, and I hope it's given you guys as much enjoyment as it gave me, thanks for comments and views, and I hope people continue to comment in this thread and on the video.

Appleseed is a major french Q3/Q4/QL player, is in CA/TDM/CTF national teams and performed in eurocups and lans (aAa, Gunzoids, Xe, ...). Less active in QL but still played as sub in TeamFR TDM/CTF.

Hey man just wanna add in, I have lots of + respect for all of the guys mentioned, because I can tell you it is very difficult to become good and make a name for yourself when you're always being compared to your more skillful brother. Heck in online comps when I do well there is always people suspicious over whether it was even me playing etc etc haha

Having said that there is obvious benefits to it, I can always watch demo's with fraze or go into his room and watch him play, he can even explain a few of his moves while we play which is very beneficial.

But yeah, tough gig living in da shadow haha

so many unnecessary frags and average kills. awful music, and the intro was terribly unprofessional. the creator also obviously didn't take into account the youtube compression, and in turn destroyed the quality of the video. this probably could've been avoided (i'm putting this as a con because many people will not bother themselves downloading the movie, and therefore, i believe that the youtube version should be as refined as possible)

in my opinion there is probably only 10 clips there that i would take out in terms of them being lower quality than the rest, I think 80/90 clips is pretty good, and easily enough for 'so many' to not be applicable.

hehe, dont think you need to have good frags or be good at making movies to pass judgment on them, only problem I have is when the judgements are overly harsh and not partiularly true!

I liked it, but could be like 2 times shorter with weaker frags left out (some CA frags, simple rocket bounce followed by directs on close range etc). Music was nor bad, neither good for my taste. 8/10 for the effort.

didn't like the music, and didn't care for the weird color correct, brightness too low and contrast too high? fine with some q3 style rocket frags again, not too much lg, which was nice for a change, didn't like the rail whoring though. 6/10
