I'd actually describe it as a BASS inspired game in a Blade Runnerish universe.

The Blade Runner game released in 97 is pretty awesome.
Dreamweb is pretty cool, especially if you read the diary that came with it as the game doesn't really explain much.
Bloodnet is pretty awful if you don't really get into it but if you do the ambience is really good. The pc music sucks donkey cocks though.
Machinarium is alright, pretty much a Woodruff and the Schnibble of Azimuth clone.

can't add much to faerie's list (maybe shadowrun) but if you're lookin for cyberpunk games in general you might want to look at good ol neocron - horrible old fashioned mmofps from 2002, which is f2p since a few months. it's stil great if you're into that kind of stuff

I am with Higgs. Pc games are doing very well right now. You have AAA games and indies. Kickstarter brings back old genres like isometric rpgs and other things. Xcom brought back turn based strategy. A new Jagged Alliance has been announced. Space Hulk is also looking good. As mentioned in this thread, adventure games are coming back. Games like Prison Architect or Maia are in the spirit of Bullfrog. Molyneux is doing a new god game. Millions of people play MOBAs and seem to have fun with it.

For competitive fps, of course its looking not so good. Where is 2GD and his Reborn announcement?

I'm pretty sure he meant "point & click" adventure games, not PC games in general. And aside from some indie titles here and there that is pretty much a dead genre of games.

Well, as far as cyberpunk/tech-noir p&c goes specifically, there is not much to recommend, Faerie pretty much covered it. Obviously there are non-genre games like Bioforge, Syndicate, System Shock, Deus Ex etc but i'd be shocked if you didn't know them already. There's also Anachronox but it might be a bit too tongue-in-cheek. Still a good game. For the rest you have to delve into the murky depths of anime-themed console games which i have not dared to do and couldn't recommend doing to my worst enemy.

As for good old sci-fi adventure games, you have The Longest Journey (although it does randomly switch back and forth between sci-fi and high fantasy, so yeah), Future Wars, the first Dune game (some strategy game elements to it as well, not super intrusive though), Prisoner of Ice (more a horror game than a sci-fi game, but eh), The Journeyman Project series and The Orion Conspiracy. Oh and the Neuromancer game was pretty rad for its time IIRC, although it is positively ancient and i have idea if it is still fun to play.

Anyway, be on the lookout for the upcoming Shadowrun game, that shit is going to be great.
