Av3k's english isn't good enough, at least last time I heard him cast. His knowledge and analysis of the game would probably be superb in Polish, but for an english cast stream we need someone who can actually speak it

Av3k live commentated (in english!) his own game against Ins once on StermyTv and I found it to be extremely enjoyable.

Compared to strenx his casting and commentary is much much better. Neither of those two have the ability to express themselves as fluently as they would in their native language but av3k's english is quite decent. And av3k is so much smarter than strenx so even if his english wasn't as good as it is, it'd still be avek > strenx.

Strenx still knows more than 99 percent of the rest of us. Yeye I know all aim no brain ;)

People are delusional if they think he's still the same 'all aim, no brain.' He's got some extremely intelligent movement now if you ask me. I mean, he's not at the level of Cooller or Rapha, but he does some amazing stuff.

Compared to rapha or cypher, he's still all aim no brain pretty much. Yeye he has grinded the maps pretty well and knows the basics of everything but that's it, he always plays by the book and his mindset is very bad which both disable him from winning anything. You can spot all aim, no brain from his casting aswell, just listen closely. From how I see it, it's somewhat an achievement not winning a thing with that aim but everything's possible I guess! Online doesn't count.

You'll never reach his level. He is top player like cypher, cooller or rapha with his own unique style. And he proof it both on LAN and online many times.

What's funny is fanboys can't see how cooller and strenx are so similar. They both whine and try to get inside the opponent's head with chat(both in broken english at that), they both create drama(or rather a spectacle), they are both top5 material that struggles with rapha and cypher and they both don't act their age sometimes. But one of them always gets away with whatever he says and the other never does.

strenx perfected ABC game. Position timing and thats it. With his aim its all he needs, and tbh its all you need for casting, as you will never know whats in cooller head anyway. also - he used cypher as an example of more "brain" gameplay, while chypa is known for his heavy aim gamestyle, where he picks up random fights, and position himself so both he and his enemy has crappy angles. he obviously wins them, as hes prolly the best aimer in the community in terms of raw aim.


also lets not forget "aim" is main excuse of maza for not improving anymore.



im not saying strenx game is some kind of mastermind, and yeah, hes got not much to offer when his aim is down, but hes still better than 99pc of community, and cheaper to get him to the studio

The mini-shitstorm really started when Maza talked about him as a player and compared him to others and he's not wrong as a matter of fact, that's what's worth discussing really.

What's plain retarded is to counter his point with "LOL Mazaa dump fgt, you'll never be as good as him so STFU" because then the guy actually saying that should STFU in the first place as he'll never be as good as strenx (nor as maza probably LOL) and we should pretty much close this site or anything like it.

Anyway getting to the points:
-Imho the comparison with cypher stands because Cypher's out of control game is pretty much genius at times and crazy good usually, plus his dodging is on a whole another level and those are related with your mental game.

-Rapha, Cypher, Av3k, Cooller, DaHang, K1llsen, Evil and probably Z4muz IIRC (didn't he got 2nd place at 2 dreamhacks?) got better Lan results than him in QL. Spart1e and IIRC Noctis got similar placements.
NONE of them aim consistently better than Strenx, without any doubts.
I'd say Strenx's raw aim is a clear step ahead everyone else in Quake's Duel (=not counting Tox), only touched by K1llsen's hot stretches.

So why did he got a single 2nd place as his best placements?

Your mistake is the same az MAZA's you expect him to win because he has good aim and it should be easier.
That doesn't work in any possible way as shown by agent and a lot of other players you can win with a non heavy aiming style just as effectively.
Second of all better lan results? How many of the guys you listed got second at Quakecon when both cypher and rapha were competing?
Best raw aim? Cypher and tox are in that category strenx has only his lg his rail is good but he doesnt excel in his general aim just LG.
His projectile weapons are average compared to other pros.
So taking all this into account strenx learned to play his style around the items and with positioning using his aim and was successful which is very objective.
What you and MAZA are getting at is strenx isnt as smart as most players because he has better lg aim and yet he isnt winning so he must be mentally inferior to players like cooller,av3k and etc.
If we check results in QL strenx outperforms both.
If you bother reading my badly structured non perfect english post you will get my point .No where I called maza stupid or a bad player but he sounds bitter because strenx has aim and doesnt win everything while aim doesn't necessarily mean winning and perhaps maza himself should reconsider how he plays and maybe try to win with the combat skill he has.

nobody suggested that aim gets you wins. what they are saying is that strenx would be a BEAST if he stepped up his brain game with the aim he has. i agree with them that strenx has a really basic game that is based on items and positioning, not on reading your opponent and being unpredictable. strenx is a grinder, a tool. rapha, cypher, cooller, av3k are finesse masters.

The player i listed got those results on iternational Lans where both Cypher and Rapha played (Should double check Z4muz's 2 second placements @DH and Noctis's 2nd place and top4 results to be 100% sure but CBA).
And Strenx did not outperform Cooller and Av3k on LAN in QL results-wise.

His aim is just godly, at it reflects on his opponents' play more than on anyone else's opponents.
Nearly everyone is plain terrified to get in a fight of any kind with strenx (expecially on line when strenx is perfectly adapted with his setup) unless it's one where they have a clear and decisive positional advantage.

Actually DaHang got 2nd in 2 or 3 international LANs, and won NA iem qualifier against Rapha. K1llsen won an IEM Lan and Evil won the 2nd big event he attended (3rd if you consider adroits) and he eliminated both Rapha and Cypher (Spart1e too and also defeated K1llsen in the groupstages).

Spartie got 2nd in a Quakecon and had some top4 as strenx's, Noctis lost 3-0 in a final against Rapha in the early days (don't remember the event) and got top4 at IEM Dubai, and Z4muz had a couple of 2nd places on 2009 DHs (should check again on this one).

I usually never miss an opportunity to bash Strenx a little, but having watched the famous "Zadrot Ebaniy" game, I think today's casting will be very fun.
Sure, Strenx is a crybaby and a Quake "diva" but he does have a sense of humor and I think he will complement ddk very nicely and I think this will be a lot like zoot and ddk casting together. I think that, with Strenx and ddk there'll be a relaxed atmosphere in the studio, much unlike when czm or boomsi were co-casting (and I certainly mean no disrespect for these two).

I think the best casting possible would be Strenx casting with Cooler, both trying to be professional but still gently throwing shit at each others every two sentences in the most passive agressive way possible.
Put ddk and zoot in between maps to raise the level of awkwardness, acting like nothing weird is happening and cracking some good old telephone jokes, and you have the perfect sunday show.

Would pay to watch that. Though ddk can be awkward enough just by himself.

Still, its kinda normal to feel frustrated if things dont go your way.

There must be something with the faceit hardware / software / configuration because every single week the final lags. You need to get Trance on the case and sort it out.

The bits I do manage to see are great though, really enjoying Strenx's commentating.

fair enough. just happens the same every week, when it gets near the final it starts to lag on any resolution, whilst all other twitch streams are running fine for me.
