Does anyone know what's the copyright status of the logos used in Quake? I'm not talking about the Quake logo itself, but things like "Excellent" or "Impressive".

Would I be able to use these (or variations of them) as long as I recreated them myself in Photoshop and didn't steal the actual image file from someone?

I don't plan on making money using them but I think it might still qualify as commercial use. Basically I'd like to have them printed on clothing.
