I think he doesn't know about the command, since it has a weird story with settings changing from one patch (5=q3) to another (currently 0=q3). Even rapha did that mistake on dh winter 2012, probably because of using an old config.

cl_mouseacceloffset was just used in cl_mouseaccelstyle 1 (default: 0) and the default value for it was 5
people /writeconfig autoexec and that's why everyone has it in their cfg now

but cl_mouseAccelOffset does still exist, it just works differently now, it should be 0 if you don't want your accel curve to be altered.

I don't think rapha mistakenly used the cvar. I remember in some interview he said he uses cl_mouseacceloffset 0 so if he changed it to 5 obviously he knows what it's going to do. But as for cooller he started using it and i don't know if it was on purpose or not.

It's not k1llsen deadly. but I hit 40pc LG on a good day. what I'm trying to say is that my aim should be sufficient to kill opponents easier in a duel, and would be enough if aim was everything, but my positioning is fucking terrible and I rush without thinking.

Very few people can hit 40% lg in even fight against opponent who can dodge so I guess you are wrong about your aim. Hitting 40% lg against newbies on jumppads in pub ca means nothing.

If you actually have good aim then watch tox play. Don't rush - make opponent rush you and don't go for items you don't have timing on.
To play +forward you need good decision making and map awarness. Superior aim isn't necessary.

You are right, in duel I don't hit even 35% (recent connection issues aside). I had a look at tox's games. I definitely need to improve my positioning and concentrate more on making right decisions than to just aim. I am confident in my aim - as in it is sufficient. Not deadly, I exaggerated in that earlier post, but all for the purpose of making my point :D thanks for tips BTW!

you forget that he is also moving his model other than just aiming, he knows WHEN to start jumping, he has the skill to move across the map, jump over rockets etc.

not everyone can do it, but any player with decent LG aim and positioning, movement skill can LG rush like that. you don't watch many pros play? they can all do it, but not everyone prefers that style.

my cfg consists of copypasting settings from rapha, tox and cypher, therefore I have no idea about cfgs besides the stolen stuff. Also I like having it as simple as possible even if it means not gaining an advantage.

I don't think its a retarded cvar at all, merely its implementation.

Changing its use from only cl_mouseaccelstyle 1 to universal has thrown a lot of people off and is the reason for all of this confusion; this decision is where all the anger and "lol retarded" comments should be directed at.

For quite a lot of accel users (like myself) along with mousesenscap, its a godsend.

Cypher has BEEN using offset 5 for a long while. He may have had it set like that by mistake initially, but after like 4-5 tournaments with it I think he'd have to be careful changing it.

In the case of rapha it was like all tournaments before he had offset 0 even long after accelstyle was deprecated. So in the last tournament he looked rather off, falling off ledges and missing shots. The jury is still out on whether he did this on purpose or not.

the sens he used at tourney was 3.9 and .015 accel if anyone interested.

Where did you get those settings? If you got them from here, they're incorrect since DH messed up and didn't manage to get Cypher's config. The one under Cypher.cfg is actually Amai's iirc.

Mouse commands are the most important. Look at how stermy is obssessed with it, ie testing cg_filter_angles, truelightning, m_filter, accel, offset... cg_zoomsensi etc, same for cooller. zsx is also a big cfg tweaker. I talked to him so many times about stuff like that. Same for every top players. The mouse commands they all know it by the heart.

I'm not saying they know all the commands, who does? But the realy 4 or 5 crucial ones they do know them.

Now speaking about cypher it is a ruinning joke his cfg, everybody close to him knows it is total troll for the internet crowd.

Btw i'm gonna tell you something. Cypher doesn't use any offset with it's accel settings. :)

The 30 kb of q3 cvars, random scripts and other junk in all of his configs aren't exactly helping you to back up your (biased) opinion.

On top of that, Cypher doesn't really strike me like someone who would blatantly lie to someone when it comes to something as ridiculous as a mouse cvar. Mouseacceloffset isn't exactly the holy grail of Quake.

Just because your buttbudy slimK is supposedly close to Cypher doesn't weigh up to the things I mentioned in my earlier comment. So either you're full of shit, or Cypher spends 90 % of his days planning on how he could troll 10 people who are actually interested in his config.

Plus the 'official cypher config' was literally stolen from him, confirming he used that command at least in one lan.

In the end I'm waiting to get a hold of a good mouse so I don't have to use accel lol. It's way too complicated.

OMW. No one told me about this! I didn't play the whole of 2012, and I've been getting an off feeling with my accel since I started playing again. Just checked in game and, yep, it's set to 5. My sens is set to 4.7, which made the difference really subtle, it was mostly my small movements that felt funny.

I also discovered 2 weeks ago that my yaw was set to 0.019 and my pitch to 0.025 (also wrong). I should probably check my cfg.

you should see his ztn game against czm. Probably the one of my fav matches of all time.

tbh i'm not surprised people figured it is troll cfg. cypher never played with accel offset and mouse filter imo.

He just uses an accel value between 0.05 and 0.1 at 400 dpi with a sensitivity between 25 and 30 cm. And all the cfg we have seen so far are ALL trolls indeed, because while in the DHW12 cfg he had 36cm/360 and on the last cfg he shared he had 43cm/360, on stream we clearly see his mouse movements didn't changed A SINGLE BIT.

Anything else to say? :)

A. writeconfig was performed on his tournament machine which resulted in the same configs that we've seen uploaded.

B. A change in mouse, or radical change in sensitivity can actually result in very little change in appearance in-game. There is still the same motion and same prediction shots because it is the same mind behind them.

C. There is no reason to believe that offset 5, m_filter 1 are somehow outright bad. If you've tried them you will see that they aren't that detrimental.

D. When the base sens is low, it means that mouse motions will on average be faster. This means that accel values will have a greater effect. His low accel numbers may actually contribute much at these speeds.

The sens values are in line with what we see here.

Change your config to strenx 50cm/360 etc etc etc... RESULT: you are still a CW noob with 1200 ELO and 20% shaft huehuehue.

Use whats comfy for you RESULT: You may improve.

I am new to QL - I only have 3 days total playing time and my shaft is like 30% and I just use default settings with WMO... 4 sens 0 accel - good enough... exactly enough to get one turn across a QcK - ideal.
