Shouldn't have anything to do with those settings. I'm on my phone so I can't go into great detail but senscap is the sensitivity your mouse caps at when using mouseaccel (so, if you're using accel and the mousecap is lower than your sens, no accel turns on) pitch is up and down mouse speed, assuming m_yaw is 0.022 (left right) up and down will be slightly faster, an inmouse 2 is default, basically tells your mouse to ignore all windows sens settings/sensitivity/accel and only let quake effect it

Ps, btw looking at the other thread, if you thought you aimed worse with mouseaccel, your sens was 3 and your senscap was already 3... Well, it was a placebo, you didn't really have any accel. I personally don't use it but if you want to try set senscap to
0 or something much higher and then try mouseaccel then! See how it feels

Also "seta seta in_mouse 2" doesn't make sense.

Only one seta is needed.

Senscap has no effect when mouseaccel is 0.

When it is not 0, it will do what Phy mentioned.

While I got you there on that subject, can you explain what's the difference between seta and set? I never properly understood :(

AFAIK, "set" only works for the current session, it's reset after you exit and reenter the game. "seta" avoids this and makes the var values "stick".

Like prot said it set is not supposed to stick, but it does in quake live :-/ This is with an autoexec file present too (no writeconfigs issued).

The only difference that I've seen clearly is with a cheats command. For example, I once tried to put bot_thinkTime "0" in my config to make the bots dodge better and so I wouldn't have to type it. This did not work, but I had different problems depending on if I used set or seta.

If I used 'set', it was the same as me typing it in the console. It would just tell me that it's a C cvar and I need cheats enabled.

If I used 'seta' it would give me the error: 'bot_thinkTime' cannot be cvar_archive and cvar_cheat, dropping cvar_archive.

seta actually adds an archive (A) flag to the cvar. It's just that nowadays this might not have the effect it either once did in Q3A (which I haven't tested) or that it's just plain irrelevant.

I did a test with an autoexec present (which should even prevent this from happening ):

set test1 "test"
seta test2 "test2"

Both of them were added to repconfig.cfg and remained there after closing and reloading the game.

Like I said it may work differently in Q3A.

mouse is fucked. same thing happened to my g5 when the sensor started going bad.

also in my experience, cheap mice do not like to be flicked.

Buy a decent mouse.

Same thing happens when I used the mouse at work, move the mouse fast enough and the crosshair doesnt move. It's because the mouse has a low malfunction speed cutoff point.

u need to use a rather high mouseaccel to let ur brain know not to move the mouse too fast for it to malfunction. It's the only way when using that kind of mouse.
