"Alas. As we suspected (see our note at the end of the original story), it appears that this wonderful tale was too good to be true. We've been tipped that the original post was actually a joke, and that it was subsequently taken too seriously by the Internet - and, well, us. Apologies for those who found hope in the tale, but we still feel there may be a lesson in it for humanity, somewhere. Put down the guns, Quake 3 aliens, robots and killing machines. All you need is love - and a taste for viral internet humour."
Why would they ever assume something from 4chan was real?
[23:05:50] <@sponge> huffpo was the first apparently
[23:05:55] <@sponge> i've seen 3 or 4 "legit" news sites also pick it up

Q3 Bots weren't even tested properly. They are just a side joke from the beginning. The bots don't learn, they copy your moves, like rocket jumps, but fail miserably at it.
Q3 bots are the hugest fail in quake history.
-When they don't see you after respawn, they often stand still until they do
-They don't care for guns
-Accuracy is unhuman retarded - either way too low or waaay too high, but irritating at any time (some bots got 99.5% acc on MG, on huge distances -hellooo build-in aimbot)
- reaction time and general behavior is completely unhuman and stupid
-They are so fucking slow at times, getting stuck on invisible obstacles, taking some weird retarded routes at some parts of the map, never changing it
-they jump for no reason, as they can't strafejump
-they dodge grenades like grand masters, but are oblivious to grenades bouncing from walls
While QL bots got better, I think since the CPMA bot code was used or smth., these points still all apply! Yes they go for items now (still not guns), but so unhuman, time them to the millisecond even when they could not know the time. That's plain cheating. Otherwise still copletely retarded.
