Currently tracked on the public standard servers. Not tracked on Start-a-Match servers, given that they can be customized so greatly that you can create servers that are still ranked, but alter things that would affect race times.
Hi ESR dwellers! \o/ <3
Seeing as rankings aren't yet up, maybe let's start our own ranking list here? I'll call it ESRanks, haha (clever name :DDD).
So, my record for Campgrounds is 55.186 seconds, I even used some tricky so-called "strafe jumping" (learned this trick on youtube, but won't tell you link, search yourself :P), so it would be pretty hard to beat ;) But anyway, what's your records? Can't wait to see what you guys can do :o)))))))))))
havent checked the rocketjump map that much really, im guessing in the 20s is poss? i dunno :P ive seen some 32's i guess.
I honestly don't see any point in plasma only unless they add the gbing mechanic but strafe only... it would be nice to have strafe only records too, but i havent really kept an eye out for strafe only times.
really? I can do 10.2 and i know where i lose the speed, but 3 seconds?
damn, i want to see that immediately. Syncerror, you should consider those implements. I mean, you got the right interface to do such things. That must be the benefit of quakelive in first place.
With so many nice features, like this or, and i will drop only keywords here: livestreaming + commentary function....
THIS would be absolutely interactive (but it is only an example)
I know that this would cause many more traffic and costs, but i am pretty sure that this would force ppl to buy a premium account cause they got simple BENEFIT from it.
I am a subscriber and well, we did several root servers with quake3 stuff back in the days and it was just awesome to do that. :)
If its a lack of manpower (what i think that this can be the only reason), then think about a new concept. Its not too late.
Ok, this is not the place to discuss such things, but i know it will be read at least :) Thats probably all i want
Wow not bad : O. I think you should add some rocketjumps, my time without rocketjump was 1:14.522 because i took the stairs from 2nd to 3rd Checkpoint, now i can rocket jump \o/ and it saves me a lot of time. My time is 54.616 with rocketjump. I dont think anyone can beat that :))
It will appear in your profile but you are right, there won't be anything on the leaderboards. However, even these leaderboards are not public yet. Do you really play only to place first there? Play for the fun of it, man. Also, who knows... Maybe if some non-default Race rulesets are popular enough they will do something about it.
there's no point in racing alone imo :/ Like I wanna compare myself and see if I can match the best runners out there ! Because I certainly cant in cpm, as I've never liked/played this mode
u do know that would mean he had to press the bind close to the same frame that he lands right? im very much impressed if he used a bind, otherwise its not very special at all
It's not a bind. In PQL, once you reach a certain speed (around 1200 ups), you can shoot rockets just a little in front of you instead of directly under or behind yourself. Try it. Looks like ninjascript, but it isn't.
very very disappointed at standard servers being PQL-weaps only.
barely anyone even plays using PQL physics (ie in CA/TDM/CTF), everyone is used to VQL (or vq3, whatever, you get the point) physics.
anyway, for what its worth, i've been running VQL priv server, and doing runs on that.
I spawned other types of servers few times during weekend (vql with weapons, vql - strafe only, pql - strafe only).
pql strafe was the only one where at least someone connected.
Huh? Is there a complete record of server settings used on every match played? There might be a flag for VQL/PQL and ranked/unranked (+ the amount shots fired) but I doubt there's everything QLRanks would need to avoid considering some "non-standard" rulesets that could give better times.
While most of that information can be checked from demos I meant they add the records and demos manually meaning someone would have to take their time authenticating each demo before updating the leaderboard. You can have only top 3 for each category so it makes the work easier on the validater. This is a job I can help with.
Yeah sorry, guess I didn't make myself clear. Still the demos have to be checked by person just in case we have another W3sp incident where a bot is programmed too do all the strafing.
after you get some speed (after 2 normal strafes, or after a rj acceleration) let go of +forward and just jump with +L or +R and mouse movement, don't make turns larger than 90 °
