Enjoyed watching tonights games, Entertainment managed to make CA more interesting than normal. Also it was fun to be threatened with physical violence by some sub-human CA trash. Looking forward to the finals!

Yes - I thought it was really interesting to see how they showed that you don't have to play the way everyone thinks you have to. Only on Asylum would it seem that there's still only one way to play.

Agreed. That entire 5 game set was actually fun to watch! Who would have thought that after 15 other teams just fought in a tiny area of the map for every single game, that team number 16 would just say "fuckit" and entertain (heh) us.

Only just though... losing 9-10 on the 5th map is hardly grounds for dissing their tactics... And most of the time Cypher didn't seem to know the maps or angles well enough - especially the last map.

Their 'tactics' werent any deeper than any other team. They simply avoided the massive encounters and prefered to stick together on any other side of the map that isnt the primary ca-established one.

If anything, they never tried anything else than walking around corners. Their sole credit was their ability to adapt to situations fast enough to help a mate or get out of meh situations.

I think with their russian-famous rockets and their more than reliable lg aim (cmon, cypher, latrommi...?) they should have tried atleast a few conventional fights and see how it goes. The fact that cypher 'didnt seem to know most maps' gives credit to my point here. If he doesnt know the map, he doesnt know the angles, which in the end is a disadvantage if they start going +b.


Anyway, as has been said: anything that works. Could've gone either way indeed.

Yes - good point about the +b disadvantage... Didn't really think of that. All I can say is that from a noob spectator perspective, I would watch CA pro matches all the time if they were played like Entertainers did, but the truth is, the way it's normally played is great for the players but very meh for spectating. Still it will be interesting to see if anyone takes this approach at QCon...

Anyway, good luck for the final matches :)

I didn't say he didn't do damage - I said he didn't seem to know the map. If he did high damage regardless, then imagine what he would have done if he knew it well...

Exactly my point - on a map where no one knew the angles, he excelled based on raw skill (aim, reaction speed and feel of the game in all situations).

And no, he wouldn't achieve better score if he was playing "correctly" - because it benefits you greatly to be unpredictable on a map your own team doesn't know at all (it was ash losing that map for them).
