for me bad spawns can break a map, bad spawns are not only a balance problem, they cause a lot of frsutration and can completely ruin the experience imho

So if same thing doesn't prevent you from playing a map you know, but you use it not to learn a new map, it's clearly an excuse. Cityy is right.

Blood Run also has those bad initial spawn combos.
It does not really matter on those maps because you can still get back into them, however it makes you have some really hard first minutes for sure.

IMO Hub got the worst initial spawns of all the maps in QL..

The spawns are just equally bad compared to blood run or dm6 for example. Just that on aero it matters much more due to the map size, on aero 1 frag means 8 consecutive frags.

who says that it doesnt keep me from playing a map? cause it sure does, i would play tons more aero and ztn if the spawns werent so bad. and my love for t7 is partly because the spawns work really well there with the ql spawn system.
i agree that spawns shouldnt keep you from learning a map btw. first of all you will need to know the map fairly well to judge the spawns and futhermore spawns can be adjusted after a map gets introduced.

I also love the spawn system at work on t7, but spawn abuse still exists on that map. Die at 50 before RA, spawn at SG - is that less of a "balance problem"? Die at RA thinking you'll get MH and you spawn in the corridor and die to a rocket-rail combo. Is it less a "cause of frustration"?

Get RAPHA to play test or get ideas for maps.

He's the most balanced player and his focus is on strategy, item whoring, cycling etc.

So Rapha will give you really good ideas for the map for in control and out of control play.


personally, I'd like to see a map with a dramatic jump onto the RA, which can be denied if the enemy pushes a button and causes the bottom under the RA to become LAVA. Which would be hilarious.
