The 125 FPS Project is happy to announce the Episode #2 of the One Map Cup Series focusing on the not so new, but rarely played in duel maps - Almost Lost, Use and Abuse and Wicked! Participation is free, full double elim, BO1 all matches, servers EU (minimal ping difference).
Total prizepool for series is $300 USD now!, big thanks to our donator

The map is built with air control and double jumps in mind. I wouldn't be surprised if it has zero flow in vql.

Normally in vql on maps with RA and MH, MH spawn time is 35s. Both RA -> MH and MH -> RA trips take <= 5 seconds so that it is possible to maintain control time-wise.

Is MH spawn time on this map any different? last time I checked, it was 35s and RA <-> MH trips were > 5 seconds, thus totally different that what was is normally present in vql.

One would have to delay RA or MH all the time, which will be most likely almost impossible to maintain. As such, I doubt this will play out fine, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

As a side note, in cpma mh spawns 20 secs after the player who took it gets 100 or less hp, so mh trips are not regular which is a fundamental difference when compared to vql.

thanks for your work (and your money) but I think this would be best used holding a map making contest with prizes instead of desperately trying already existing maps not really suited to vq3 duel

almost lost could work I guess... and then what ? somebody will post something along the lines of "this game on almost lost was great, next mappool should be cure/fuse/silence/delirium/almost lost" some random guy will plus it and that's that

holding the money for a future delirium cup after bst has tweaked it looks more sensible

Indeed. I'm all for One Map Cups, but these map selections are rather weird. Almost Lost was played in duel when QL didn't have enough good duel maps. Wicked and Use and Abuse are very decent PQL maps, but for normal QL? I don't see it happening.

those maps have no future in ql
imho it could be interesting to see a series of "one map master" cup due to lacking of new maps to promote, something like "who is the aerowalk master?" or "who is the best on dm13?"

Just an idea:

merge cpm1 and cpm3a cups, throw in cpm22 (phrantic) and make it pql ruleset, bo3 all the way, double elimination, so we finally have a chance to see pql in a competitive enviroment.

With the money left make a one map cup for something else, in vql, maybe t9.

Static cam showing only zoot/ins with small "changing" video area @ 25-30fps = low bitrate.
Going in-game: 30-60 fps with every pixel on the screen constanty "changing" (hello picmip 0) = high bitrate.

Picmipped stream from Russians or whoever else results in 1,5-2 times less bandwidth, so no. When my routes or whatever it is (twitch server not handling the load?) are bad even 500p+ stream from green lags. It's not Zoot.

Zoot is wrong. There is a difference between 720p and 720p+. FaceIt works perfectly normal at 720p but lags on 720p+. I believe on twitch FAQ is written the difference between these two.

It looks too difficult out of control... You have to get the rail gun to stand a chance to take back control and that is a death trap. The player in control can protect both the rail and the shaft too easily (see Pavel v evil).

Such an awesome final. Since in quake the gameplay is always evolving maybe certain maps that once did not fit best with current play style at the time of there release are actually now very fitting, and vice versa too. An extreme example would be q3tourney2 which was a great map at its time but would certainly not play well in the later uber hitscan heavy days of cpma/vq3. Quake has gone through so many subtle changes through the years from baseq3 to OSP to CPMA/vq3 and now QL and I think the implications these gameplay changes have had on how maps play out and what makes a good map have yet to be completely understood. Thx for a great cup.

i think about replacing whicked to fuse or delirium...

T9 is fucking awesome, plus its both unique and new to QL.

I'd swap rail for plasma though to prevent endless plasma spam and maybe even place a small piece of lava/slime outside one of the teleports to prevent tele dancing, or better yet, make it so you lose, say, 20 hp every time you use the teles.

rant aside, T9 is awesome as it is anyways.
