I'm quite happy about the addition of the new maps delirium and sinister... however, I can't see why they bring back aerowalk, an ancient map with terribly unbalanced starting spawns.

Where's Silence? Fuse? Toxicity? I would even rather see Hektik in than those old overplayed maps...

People should stop being so afraid of letting go of classic maps... It's not like the maps will dissapear completely. You could eventualy bring one back in for a month...

dm13 and t7 will always be golden in ql. aero is massively overplayed yes, but it' such a great skill map

get a good starting spawn and hit your rails and win map you mean?

This pretty much. These northern muricans cannot into CA. I mean, Overkill? Eviscerated? The Edge!?!?!?!?

O: Too big and simplistic, shitspawn galore, the fights are camp heavy boring and one dimensional. Would work better if 3 quarters of the map was cut off and just the tower left, turning into a straight up 3v3-4v4 map, even then, it doesnt have alot going for it.
E: Crap design, could work for 2v2, otherwise waste-of-time-nade-spam-fest.
Edge: TDM design, this has never been a succesful CA map, ever.

Canned Heat works for 2v2 and 3v3, straight up CA as it should be (obviously its real small though and does limit gameplay variety)
Seems and Bolts works for 2v2 and 3v3 aswell. same as above.

Campgrounds is the go to CA map, 2v2 upto 4v4. Allows all weaps to be used effectively, plenty of routes and options, perfect CA scale. (add 6++ plx :x )
CA1/2/3 obviously all work, 3v3 on 1, upto 4v4 on 2, upto 5v5 on 3.
Repent is too big, havent been able to find any flow in this map. dull campfest more often than not (see quakecon)
Almost Lost is an average 2v2 tdm map, average at its very best for CA (why do ppl like this? :D )
dm20 works if people have the balls to fight when the round starts, else it turns into nades, nades errywhere /snore

inb4 why take CA so seriously. Im not though, its just common sense after playing CA for far too long :/

for me it's about quality control more than anything else at this point. let's push the all new mappool by all means, but let's make sure that everything plays as it should so we don't get stuck with a troubled mappool. also dm13 4 lyf:]

Yes, I agree. A new map is not better since it is new over an old map. But there is no reason to play Q3 maps (ztn/aerowalk/dm13) anymore since we have several maps to replace them. It's good for competition as the older players will be forced to learn something new and the new players will not be +10 years behind in experience.. Out of my head maps that have been released in QL that are suitable for duel and good maps -> battleforged, cure, delirium, fuse,furious heights, hektik, house of decay, silence, sinister, toxicity.

Then there are maps that I personally have not played yet so I don't have any opinion -> Focal point, Devilish and some others that I have not tried yet.

There are also maps that have released that are more or less bad, but no need to mention them as we have +11 maps to rotate from that more or less are good if you actually play them and give them a chance.

This is not meant to be whine in anyway, but rather my own opinion as always. Everyone is free to express theirs, but I personally don't enjoy playing or watching the old maps (from Q3 era) and I know many feel the same, since everything has been done/seen before. In particular since QL is so balanced so you can predict the next 2 minutes between 2x good players and the gameplay becomes quite stale in many cases.
