i had the same problem with mx518. i still think its possible but im not sure what i did wrong. THE METHOD WORKED under vista and i think with an early version of win7. i decided im not insane to invest hours to get it work. i did google a lot. a lot. the site you named i know :) my solution was a new mouse :(((

The MX300 IS the new mouse. It's awesome, a RELIC, and need to find a way to make it work. : /

a new mouse with built in hz changer in the driverrrrrr. all new mices have that now.

logitech didnt go backwards and included it in the mouse driver. no beta driver nothing, i was pissed.

for that, i was angry of logitech and i didnt bought a new logitech mouse :] they wanted that you bought the mx518 follower g400.

I never install drivers, only a mousefix. It's just a hassle and for me, useless as well tbh.

In the last 2 years I used a Salmosa. Hardware polling rate / resolution switches. Cannot be better than that.

MOUSE2 started to act funny (too much slamming to the table imo), that's why I bought an MX300 (for 15 USD including shipping). The shape is awesome even though the chassis itself is a bit more heavier than the Razer, even with the weight removed, but nothing can be perfect.

Long story short, I need 500 Hz with THIS mouse - unless you buy me a G100s, and then the MX300 can go to my Tualatin Voodoo-box :>

32 GB system SSD, the rest 3 TB is on 4 HDDs, completely full, not possible to get free space, not to mention another partition.

I heard it breaks down the USB-port; the exact same mouse won't register in it.

I used "install service" with MX300 and WMO, USB port still works fine.

it works only in "testmode", so you need keep windows in testmode as long as you want to have higher hz.

you have to leave windows 7 in test mode if you are using it at 500hz. it won't work otherwise. just get a watermark remover and you're good to go

Copy hidusbf.sys to SysWOW64/drivers then sign it & restart.

So..

Copy blabla to blabla (what you said)
dseo - test mode (dont restart)
set polling rate, dont install service or restart
dseo sign hidusb in SysWOW64, restart

you have to sign the hidusbf.sys out of the AMD64 folder too, it doesn't matter where you copy it too. (i have copied the hidusb.inf and hidusbf.sys just to c:\ for easier writing the path in dseo)
if you "broke" some usb port with a failed try, then go in device manager and uninstall the "hid-complientblabla".

you could try to install win7 without sp1, method, install sp1 and look if it works. or desinstall sp1, the method, install sp1 again.

I have the same setup MX300 and windows 7 x64 build 7601 and have tried every guide I can find but nothing works. I either end up with a dead usb port that i have to uninstall or nothing changes at all.

Being stuck on 125hz is killing me. Tempted to drop back to windows xp where the polling rate fixes worked flawlessly with my MX300.

Hopefully someone will get it to work and post up a guide for the MX300 here.

I have done it with WMO in win7 Test mode build 7601, and have a text doc with alternative instructions from a forum when i did it saved with the installer. Try these, best i can do.

1. Download Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider (attached below as dseo13b.exe).
2. Download HIDUSBF (attached below as hidusbf.zip).
3. Run Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider and choose Enable Test Mode.

RESTART COMPUTER

4. Extract HIDUSBF to some folder, right click on HIDUSBF.inf and choose Install.
5. Run Setup.exe from HIDUSBF’s folder, check the Filter on Device box and select your desired sample rate.
6. Run Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider again, choose Sign a System file and insert full path to the installed HIDUSBF.sys file (For example: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\HIDUSBF.sys).
7. Restart your computer and enjoy.
8. Verify by using Mouse Rate or DirectInput Mouse Rate (attached below as mouserate.exe and dimr.exe)
9. If you would like to remove the test mode watermark, run Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider and choose Watermark removal.

if you have tryed before and failed then make sure you delete C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\HIDUSBF.sys
and in device manager check all your usb ports are reverted to normal.
reboot and follow instructions again.
Try different ports. for some reason it doesn't like some of mine ;pp

edit with hexadecimal the usbport windows system file to run all usb ports at 1000hz. easy and reliable. make a backup of original file in case you fail.

1. Revert everything back to normal (even take the test mode off)
2. Plug the mouse in to a different usb port
3. Do everything according to the instructions and remember to start every single executable as an administrator every single time

to anyone stumbling on this thread from google or wherever:

The answer is that the usb poll rate fix video and other instructions dont work for 64 bit win 7 is because you have your mouse plugged into a 3.0 usb port. you need to plug it into a 2.0 port Or you can disable xHCI in bios to disable 3.0 and then the methods above will work!

My motherboard back then didn't even have USB 3.0.

I am 12 and please god sell me your MX300, I will make it work.

well you wrote "Didn't use "Install service" or "restart"," so this is basically why this is not working.

Open hidusbf select your mouse on the list, then select which Hz you want and click 'install service' and then restart. This will replace hidusbf.sys file in system drivers folder.

Then you need to use dseo13b.exe and restart - if you wouldnt use dseo13b.exe mouse would completely stopped working on this port

Also tried this several times. Only 125 Hz.

that means that either hidusbf doesnt copy/replace hidusbf.sys file or it is immediately returned to the previous version by the system.

try to check that - compare created time/last time modified before and after clicking 'install service' - file - C:/Windows/System32/Drivers/hidusbf.sys

i had the same prob a while back, using mx300 and win7

iirc i had to press f8 at bootup and disable driver signature enforcement
