Not really, I'll probably buy it and just like GTA4, I'll be bored within a week and not touch it. FIFA 14 on the other hand, that's what I'm excited for!
What difference does that make to me? I like to play a current football game, with updated players, with an active userbase in the low hundreds of thousands so that I can get a game at any time of the day within 1 second of searching. Can you tell me which other football game allows me to do that?
It isn't great I agree. But as you are alluding to paying for Quakelive yearly, to me it's what you get out of it. I keep my Quakelive sub going at a cost of whatever it is, in the last year I got less than 30 playing hours use out of it, arguably not worth it. FIFA13 cost me about £30, in the last year I've conservatively played 1500 hours on it. That's undeniable value, as well as time undeniably wasted, but whatever.
The map was leaked online a couple of days ago and it looks really good! A large city in the south, big open area in the middle and small towns and villages scattered about. Although it's hard to figure out the scale of the place from one small image they have said it's going to be as big as GTA: San Andreas, which if you've played you will realise it's a pretty big map! Infact after seeing the GTA 5 map I've downloaded GTA:SA again to remind myself how big it was.... it is huge!
Lucky my house mate is buying it so I won't have to, think I'll wait for the Xbone/PS4 version. I'd imagine they will release a PC version next year maybe with improved graphics and draw distance etc. whilst releasing this improved version on the next gen consoles. It would be crazy of them to announce a next gen/pc port right now and lose out on the current gen console sales with people perhaps opting to wait.
Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist but i'm pretty sure that they are releasing the map them selves.
And they said earlier that they weren't going to release a pc version. But if it is a gigantic success they might be releasing it on pc, we will have to wait and see.
I read on an other forum about the game and they said that it would never get a pc release. They linked to some interview with a developer/designer working on GTA making the claim that pc was of low priority.
But this was something like 6 months ago so their plans might have changed. If they release the game for PC i might buy it, otherwise i wont. I'm not buying a console just for one game.
releasing the map themselves? what? I'm talking about an image of the whole map used in the game that was printed in a gta 5 guide book.... pic was scanned and put online.
I don't think there's any doubt that they will release it on pc and next gen consoles. Remember that GTA5's released date did slip by quite a few months which put it dangerously close to next gen release dates. There's alot of games that are going to have console gen crossovers so for instance people may not buy xbox 360 watch dogs and wait until they buy a xbox one and purchase it for that. So it would be madness at this late stage, with such a big hit (over 2.5 million pre orders) to announce a next gen version as alot of people would then hold out for that. Like i say i think we will see a PC version early next year with higher resolution, further drawn distance etc, and with the next gen consoles architecture it should be easier to port it over to them too. Would look so much better with all that extra ram (512mb vs 8gb) and cpu power.
Bottom line, they couldn't announce a pc/next gen version if they wanted to because it would hurt initial sales, but i think it's a dead cert it will come out on them.
What i meant by releasing or "leaking" was that every major game in the last few years always leaks some info about the game on about some feature that is amazing.
For example CoD always leaks some info and it is always one of the CoD friendly communities that the info is leaked to(ign).
Don't you find it strange that it is always a major good feature that is leaked and never something bad? I mean, a year ago they announced how gigantic the map would be. And now the map is leaked.
zimmerman, you mean mexican? if so then still haven't met much of them. POV thing is kind of cheesy, loading from world map takes around 40 secs to load. on missions there are some more freedom but most of it still scripted hard. could be autoswitch easily.
I wasn't all that impressed with the graphics of GTA 4 on the consoles, mostly with the draw distance as it took away from the immersion in the world. But they've really improved the graphics in GTA 5, with a much better draw distance. HUGE map as well.
Playing it now, blows my mind technically.
Don't care about the game, the fact that I can walk/fly/run around large parts of LA and recognise them based on the real world is simply amazing.
Never seen anything on this scale, with this much detail.
yeah the world is amazing! and when you compare what they have done with this compared to gta4 on the same hardware, albeit 5 years later, its quite something.
If you have either a 360 or a PS3 there's no reason not to buy GTA V. It's the best GTA so far, one of the biggest games ever (if not the very biggest) and addicting as fuck for at least 5 days.
