Yeah i kinda know the diffrence between pro and amateur, but i mean some players are really good but dont have a sponsor i would put them in the "pro" group.

What seperates a player from being "pro" or "amateur" can be a thin line.

Maybe making the "pro" tournament well known/high skilled players and making the amateur open with the top 3 moving up to the pro tournament in the next event or something would work.

Beyond that there really isnt a "pro" scene for quake anymore. Especially after ESL dropped QL.

My plan would be:

1. Buy Ql. Get rid of syncerror. Hire people capable of making a progress in 5 years.
2. Make a monthly map contest with prize money (not restricted to duel maps). The players would decide which map they like the most and all of the maps would be available to play on standard servers.
3. Anticheat system.
4. Change the server provider to someone else than i3d, whos cheap ass routing just sucks cock.
5. Pay to bring QL back to ESL.
6. Spend the rest of the money on advertisement to bring the well deserved attention to QL.

I loved the world tour format and would want to do similar but alternating between duel and tdm every month.
3 day events, top 16 getting prizes with 1st for duel being $40k and tdm being $80k. With the last tournament of the year being a 5 day tdm and duel EXTRAVAGANZA!! with double the prize pool.
probably go with the groups then double elim brackets.

2nd: I'd hire private investigators to bring out all the quake legends throughout time. Including all the TDM legends like Stelam, Kane, Hazzi, Mikes, Prozac, Tox, Gopher etc etc etc. And obviously all the legend duelers, like Unkind, Lexer, Polos, Lakerman, czm etc etc.

3rd: Obviously invite all the current top players, rapha, evil, strenx, dahang, fraze etc etc etc

4th: I'd pay for all flights and bring them all to a custom-built training LAN resort for a whole week, on the island 'Lost World'. All the oldies will get time to practice and get back some form.

5th: In the second week, I'd host the largest QL tourney, including duel - TDM & CTF. With the largest prize pool of monies. These monies will be made from all the one p's and two p's that people lose, and get accumulated into a pot. (joke, ref fonejacker :P)

6th: I'd also pay the BBC to cover the event, and pay TV companies world-wide to fuck-off their regular sport shit in prime-time spots, and put this tournament in their place.

7th: have a baked potat.
