ZOWIE GEAR acknowledged that there are gamers who prefer a faster scroll wheel. With the new model comes a 24-step rotation wheel compared to the standard 16.
So he basically turned EC into WMO.. looking forward to reviews and new products they come up with.
No info about switches (i.e. the reason why I can't buy anything Zowie) or feet. Instead, they concentrate on scroll wheel that's usable only by CSS players and would totally suck for Quake. What the heck?
Quake players would prefer to bind stuff to the mouse wheel (be it changing weapons, or selecting them, or anything else that makes the wheel 2 additional buttons for you to bind).
More defined mouse scroll steps are then preferred, as opposed to mouse that scrolls webpages really fast, or lets you jump right after landing in CSS.
"ZOWIE GEAR acknowledged that there are gamers who prefer a faster scroll wheel. With the new model comes a 24-step rotation wheel compared to the standard 16." not just Quake players, and it says some not ALL. Clearly you are not one of them and that is fine.
If you do not use the wheel for something like changing weapon (where faster wheel means you change it to the wrong weapon), you would appreciate the faster scroll wheel for e.g. web browsing.
Regarding the stiff switches, if you try AM-FG or FK they are less stiff even though they use the same switches, they are molded differently.
"ZOWIE GEAR have made this choice together with Cooller because Quake gamers tend not to use the scroll wheel to change weapons compared to other games."
Which means we don't use it at all and want fast scrolling in browsers?
One of the beautiful aspects of LAN is that I could get my hands on some mice and they are stiff for someone coming from old Razer "hyper response" buttons (they don't make mice for me anymore either, so I don't know how soft/stiff are buttons in the mice they released after 2007 ;))
the bigger amount doesn't necessarily make them less defined, there're loads of of well defined 24-step mechanical solutions, like for example Alps encoders from Roccat mice or even Abyssus up to some point(mostly due to scroll size there). It's all up to the manufacturer to choose the turn force of the wheel encoder from a great variety.
I like the colours, should say cooller on it though, or have some cooller quote :> (even if its just on the label on the bottom). "I'm talking it" lol.
ye, should definitely be more recognizable as having something to do with cooller.. make it the qlr series, russian color scheme, cooller smiley on top and I'm sold. this way really it's "just a mouse"
I really hope a new QLR mouse will come out at some point.
If i was cooller i'd try to make a kinzuadder-type mouse. Kinzu shell (or something very close) with omrons and an A3090, got a feeling that will sell well.
Or maybe a real ergonomic gaming mouse (like those ones that are tilted 45-90 degrees). It's just that with the Aurora,Kana v2,Zowie fk, G100s, it seems to me that the market for ambidextrous gaming with a proper sensor and good proven shape have become plentiful, except for a Sensie sized one perhaps. Maybe a deathadder/imo 3.0/ec evo 1 style ergonomic palm mouse but much more light weight is unavailable and in demand, that or a proper figertip-grip mouse (without a heavy hump in the back which tries to also appeal to claw grippers) is something that's in demand and not really available yet. With so many good gaming mice coming out now I can't think of a missing universally acclaimed shape with a proper sensor that is NOT available. wingman shape optical mouse maybe?
just started on prozac :) first pill was kinda fail tho, there was a bottle on the table which i thought had water in it, but turned out it was tuica (a kinda whisky, home made). so i took my first prozac with alcohol
the FK coating is neato, but I was hoping for something more, like a new shape. colors don't remind me so much of cooller or quake either. oh well, it's just mouse but still a good one
