Generally CA requires enough skill for no player/team to ever be able to ever become perfect in it. For comparison, a game that requires almost no skill is tic-tac-toe, as anyone quickly perfects it and it's impossible to get any better. In CA it's easy to imagine that with any top player, there's a possibility for someone to still be even better, so in practical sense CA allows for infinite skill growth.

These kind of comments such a joke. If a game has ten skills, most of them nearly capped, three at 50% by top players, it's fine to say it requires less skill than a game with ten skills at 50% assuming the skills are as hard to develop. The overall skillcap is uncomparably larger. So, the second game takes more skill.

The best lolca EU players are the ones that did well in the road to quakecon faceit cups.

The best lolca NA players are the ones that did well in quakecon. The best are rapha, demex and clock.

Best CA player is the most consistent one....many people can outaim these guys on a good day but its another thing doing it often. Vium seems most solid overall nowdays tho.

You can't have "pure CA players" list, they usually play other modes too.

I think Latrommi would at the moment be the best CA player if he played it. But since TDM is far more fun, I don't expect him to.

zsx started quake 3 back in 2004 (i'm not sure of the exact date tho) with rocket arena 3. His nickname was ac1d back in the day. At that time he was already among the best.

he has more CA experience than duel. And even today from time to time he likes playing CA (4v4 and pcw).
In my heart (even tho i'm heartless :p) he's more a CA player than a duel player. But ofc if he keeps playing duel for like 2-3 years then ofc he will become a pure duel player :p.

zsx in a normal duel plenty of times, gohan plenty of times in ca/nromal duel 1v1 (since he and xanthic likes to play ca 1v1, i dont play 1v1 at all), coow on polish srv lg vs lg (2rounds in a row) I think serious (he had dif nick back then) was speccing, but im not sure. This list is just something you wrote and nothing realistic. Organise a tournament with prizes to motivate ppl a bit and see. Dont think any of those players would end on top10 list except hal / zsx at 1v1 ca. At 4v4 the story would have been different. Those players u named as a 4v4 ''gods'' are not even close to the top ca 4v4 players except vium

The list is actually pretty accurate 1v1/2v2 wise. Not so sure about 4v4 list though. He's talking about the people who are playing CA dailty and actively. How about you make your own list, i'm actually quite curious to see who you deem top 10 (no sarcasm).

None of the players are really active. All are online / away for some time so you cant really say that anyone is active / inactive. However, I will give you my top5 list. Believe me. If there were any competition in CA 1v1 - these players would play for sure and end up top5.

yeah we ended up only 2nd. And ofc we lost because of me. But one thing you don't know : i took my meds before playing the games. Which means that i was feeling sleepy and had a urge to go to bed. Zyprexa (olanzapine generic name, anti-psychotic) is a strong medicine that makes you want to sleep and/or relax 20-30mn after you took it (not even talking if you eat at the same time).

like i said already, you won the 2v2 cups when the top of the top players weren't participating. If you win a 2v2 cups with all of them participating, then, yes, you will be considered in the top10 for sure.
Also, i'm not talking only about tournaments, but also about practice games. I think it's fair to say that the practice games in 2v2 CA matters probably as much as the tournaments, cause there are a lot of opportunity to play a proper bo3/bo5 in practice games aswell. You know, it's just like MMA, if you beat the best you take his place as the new king of the hill.

We played 11 2v2 Cups and won 7 of them and always getting atleast 3rd place. Check the matches we played. We won guys u only know about from news on esr.


Nearly all of the players mentioned here in this thread attended in those cups. Only faces did better then us... and guess what they r better players so it natural.

i lost 1 faceit cup with gohan against you and uraz (and like i said i took my meds before playing, which kills my reflexes :(). We ended up 2nd. That was the only time i played with a proper m8. Look at my m8s in the last CA cups i played. Not saying i was playing with noobs but still not good enough to carry me to the final. About jewro, i used to beat him EVERY single time we played. And that was like 20-30 games. But then all of a sudden he started to beat me quite easily, each next games we played. I'm still not sure if he's legit or not.

In 2008 I beat strenx (except at dm6), i beat toxjq in lg vs lg. I beat fragmaster, zsx, winz, linkin. In 2011-12 i beat people like ph, coow, gizmo and so on (with the razer abyssus). Now tell me that i'm not in the top10.

So, you won against hal aswell, there again, congratz, BUT (yeah... BUT! :D) he was playing with rin, which is good but far from being as good as him. Try to win hal in a 1v1 lg vs lg, and, more importantly, try to win a bo3 vs hal 1v1 on eyetoeye or thunderstruck :p. Definitely harder than playing against rin :)

There again, jh16 isn't as good as szr. jh16 is still good, but it's easier to play vs jh16 and szr than szr alone, or let's say szr and ph, or szr and jwzr :). Come back to me after you won against szr a proper bo3 on thunderstruck and then... I put you in the top10 :p

Fragsau doesn't play very often, and afaik he's ofc VERY good, but not a living legend like poomer or ormey. I don't even know if he played ra3 lol. I will ask him next time :p

if uvs (ormey's CA team) was still active, they could probably be at least as good as faces of meth. Ormey isn't THAT good at 2v2 or 1v1, but at 4v4, he's definitely one of the best. His +back long range rails are sick, his gamesense is sick aswell, and, he got A LOT of CA experience. He knows how to play 4v4 better than most players in EU. Ormey, poomer, snajp, when they played with uvs clan tag, they were one of the best 4v4 CA team that ever existed. Maybe you seen ormey playing on pubs servers and you were like "blah, this guy's just average", but try to play against uvs in a practice clan war, you would be surprised, their playstyle mainly consist of +back and rail rail rail (and also A LOT of teamplay), they do it at perfection.

yeah you did ok, quite expectable from a top10 player (uraz, oh, uraz didn't play this 3v3 tournament ? nevermind then) and a top15-20 player (you).
What I want to say is that you don't belong to the top10, but definitely top15-20. Means that you are at least at top20 of the best CA players in europe, not bad. Maybe you're a little bit butthurt that i've put myself at #4 and didn't put you into the top10. Don't cry, top15-20 is very good too. 6 months of more practice and you'll reach top10 probably... probably :p.

But I personally do give a fuck. Cause some players are oldschool and deserve a bit more respect than the newschool cause they are/were legends. Also, look at evil, this guy play quake since 2000-2002, and with a lot of practice he managed to reach the very top in no time.
What i mean is that some people like ormey, poomer, even gohann_ and lofwyr, and even me to some extent, with a lot of practice to get in shape, can outplay basically anyone (except serious :D) if they feel the adrenaline and they focus 100%.
In my case, you will see that in a few months, if i keep playing regularly, i will prove my point especially the fact that i put me in top10.

After some consistent praccing I might be. Thanks for the confidence though. Today I got destroyed by Uraz & Yrx and the likes of them. Whereas I used to stand an equal ground with them, even winning from time to time. Quake skill decays so quickly. Deciding to take 1- 2 weeks off just halfens my skill level and aim = all over the place.
