Haha, it is really funny! Speaking of a language barrier though is not appropriate at all. Of what little I have seen/heard yet, I can tell that his English is quite good - extensive vocabulary and correct grammar.

Being German but knowing Swiss from early childhood on, I can tell it's definitely the Swiss way to pronounce words and how they intonate sentences. For one thing they bend a lot of vowels e.g. motoor compared to motor (in german/english) which gets most obvious in the word Motorrad - it cracks me up every single time I hear it spoken Swiss.
2:54 "At the mooment there is nothing that Ash can doo. I mean he is six frags doown. Again this boounce..."

And the intonation (the more fitting word I think is Satzmelodie - approx. melody of sentence) is so clearly Swiss that I think anyone who heard some Swiss-German can directly see that translated into Atomigos and Mementos English. This however is more hard to pinpoint. Once I find a fitting example I will let you know.

Very enjoyable to have co-casters in general and especially so when Italian- French- or Russian-English is involved. Most beloved words are the Italian "Rocket-Luncher" and the Swiss "Meega". Keep them coming!

yeah. i dont wanna be an asshole, but atomigo is bad at casting. talking way too much, and 99% of it is just paraphrasing the ingame (unfortunately the paraphrasing isnt even good due to his language and insight)

It took me two sunday cups before I realized I could just relax and let DDK carry the cast.

That's definitely my job and not the job of the guest caster to make sure to the best of my ability (although sometimes fatigue gets the better of me) that I'm there to carry if it's required.

True Quake at it's finest, except for that sinister 'after-the-spawn-at-red-with-lg' remainder.

What really important now is - what kind of game raffer has to deliver to overcome this constantly evolving doublestar of CIS.
With US faceit down raffer has next to no motivated pracc opponents.

One thing's for sure - US school of Quake has it's own distinctive style which may, or may not, take EU aces by surprise, and if there's a man, able to construct an obliterating tactical scheme by analyzing demos only - it's raffer.

There's this question that can set things straight or turn'em into chaotic shit - the dhw system - with full double elim finals (let's say - bo5 with a bo3 decider, if need be) it will be a solid unquestionable king of the hill,
whereas that lame puke diarrhea qcon bo5 with WB winner removing (and defwinning) the best map of LB winner will be just fucking ridiculous and will cause the shit hit the fan with no satisfactory results whatsoever.

Let's hope will see all the stars at their top form at dhw, and orgs with perfectly working braincells.

A little explanation for seeding, and sorry for the issues all. The Faceit site was completely bogged down today with the massive numbers of CS:GO players playing in the Qualifier cup also at the same time I could not get the seeding to work it kept timing out at that time. So sorry but it all worked out fine in the end :)

We had an amazing Final so that made up for all the short comings of the earlier stages I hope!

i agree, cypher playing evil three finals, three days in a row, helped his game immensely. its like he's finally figured out a few patterns/weaknesses from evil

also, seems to be more calm and rage-free.

originally i thought it was going to be either rapha or evil winning DH winter, but with cypher 2.0 in the picture it's hard to say

Yes - also Cypher and all the other old guard traditionally really ramp up their game in the last 2 weeks leading into a major lan event, so I think we can really see some fireworks come DHW. But I think the major break through I've seen in the last few matches between Cypher and evil is that ZTN is no longer a guaranteed map win for evil... That is a big turn around. Although evil has taken Cypher numerous times on Furious Heights which is traditionally one of Cypher's strongest maps, so it looks like evil is also improving in some areas too... I don't know really how much we can read into these results however, since both players may be holding back a little, so that they can surprise the other with different tactics at DHW...

I'm kinda undecided about atomigo. For someone who has almost no casting experience and isn't a native english speaker his casting was really really impressive because he was doing a lot of play-by-play, used his voice to add excitement a bit and while speaking quite fast was still understandable at all times. Still people who are native speakers and very experienced at casting (i.e. ddk, zoot, tosspot etc.) are much better at all of those things so it would have been better if atomigo took more of a color commentator role and let ddk do the play-by-play.

Anyway gj, expected worse tbh :p

his tiredness helped him calm down and the finals were probably the best casted matches of the day, which made it end on a high note. look forward to seeing him again, if he can use today's criticism to his advantage

Finally there is something that I can add stuff to.

First: I don't think that my casting was good, but I don't think I can change it because the main problem will remain - the language

Allthough I can have a conversation in english, it is then a total different thing to cast for 4 houres which makes me very tired and I make far more mistakes.

From the expirience point of view its unfortunatelly just not true. I have lots of casting experience. E.g. Intel Friday Night Game in Zürich etc. The problem is just that I have very few expirience in english casting.

There was some criticism about me beeing nervous. And I can tell you that I was not nervous at all. I'm used to standing in front of people or the camera but it is just the way I like casting. I like fast emotional castings and I tried to do it like that, even though there is a huge language barrier. I've learned one thing in the past, and thats that you can't make everybody happy. So I hope some people liked it and then im fine with it. I'm not planning to do more castings in the future, so everbody that wants to flame can calm down, since it probably won't happen again.

The reason why ddk asked me is that when he casted his first QL matches (silence cup) I helped him a little bit at the end. So there is that.

Man, you were awesome more than once during casting! Please, don't feel bothered (even if slightly) about some irritated idividuals who must have never experienced the exhaustion of hours-long foreign language speech production. And thank you immensely for your pairing with DDK who i believe was more than happy to have a rare opportunity to relax while you kept delivering. Cheers :)

good job man. often you wanted to say too much which made you be quite a lot behind the action, but the brane was there so all was good.

What I hated about him was his jokes. Like when he said if baksteen does the baksteen jump he's gonna jump up, round around and smash things. WTF? So random, and doesn't make any sense. It was clear he was making that up on the spot and when he said the first part of the sentence he had no idea what was he going to say.

Anyway, he had a few other facepalm-worthy jokes.
