From what I remember from his interviews, he's said that he changes his sensitivity by .1 or so very often, and some accel tweaks (small). It's not a huge change. Definitely not going from 20cm/360 to 29cm/360 or accel to no accel, etc.

Maybe he's got different senses for every map and keeps it as a secret.

First one. Your performance was great with the abyssus long time ago. + The tad higher sens makes you hit better rockets. If you can maintain your excellent LG with 20cm/360 stick to that. I played with 20cm/360 for almost 2 years. It's great when you get used to it.

Errh, Saying rockets are better with high sensitivity is subjective, I think it depends more on what you're comfortable positioning your shots with, and aiming quickly with.

So providing you can reach high arm speeds comfortably, it shouldn't matter how low your sensitivity is as long as it's within a reasonable range.

You could say it's easier to make big adjustments with high sensitivity, which in turn makes it easier to go for odd fast shots naturally, but then again, some people might just play 40cm/360 with a heavy reliance on arm movement and a massive mousepad and have similar results.

Yeah. But experience told me that playing with wrist/fingers exclusively with mid to high sens is generally a better option for rocketaim. Big arm movements take more time and take more effort to stop the mouse where you want to, that is if you don't strafeaim rockets like a noob, but faint and flick your rockets like the good players do.

i'm on 1024x768 and i plan to play starcraft 2 aswell. So i need quite high dpi at least 800dpi. I don't want to change my windows sens so it has to stay at 6/11.

and just imagine if one day i play a starcraft lan, and the monitors they have are 24" 1920x1080 and they don't do 1024x768 @ 120/144hz, so basically i'm forced to play at HD resolution. In this case 1150 or 1800dpi are definitely better than 450dpi.

and still, i find 400/450dpi a bit too slow at 1024x768 so just imagine at 1920x1080 lol (with windows sens 6/11).

Sensitivity matters much less in SC2. In Quake there are unique situations where a low, med or high sensitivity seems to work best, but SC2 is lacking this dynamism. Also I would say until Diamond league macro is considerably more important than micro. Therefore the likelihood that precision will help your W/L ratio is low.

i can't change my monitor since my laptop doesn't do 120hz/144hz @ LCD :D. I don't have DVI output, all I have is VGA and HDMI, but HDMI doesn't do 120hz :D

i won't have a sens below 1 , because some games like counter-strike or basically any other source games don't do <1 sens.

so if one day i have to play CS (or CS:GO), i can still have the exact same sens than in quakelive.

Same sens in other fps games is bad. You will fuck up the mouse feel in both+ sens 1 in ql is not the same cm/360 as sens 1 in cs.

Never thought I'd post in one of these threads but here goes:

Pick a reasonable sens with reasonable accel (if you like that) that feels comfortable.

The most important thing is to never change that sensitivity. Every now and then you start aiming bad and the first thing that comes in mind is altering your sensitivity but in reality there's a number of reasons as to why you're suddenly aimbing bad. Tiredness, different position at your desk, perhaps you're aiming more/less with your wrist and perhaps opponents dodging pattern are slightly different. To be honest the biggest mistake I've done since i started playing many years ago was to change everything up every now and then and by doing that you never reach that consistency you're looking for.

I like the idea of having a 30-35 cm/360 with some accel but with some offset so that the accel doesn't kick in so often. The problem here is to find a good accel and offset value that let's you aim good on long range and close range.

So basically: find a good setting and stick with it - you'd be surprised how much your precision can improve once you get used to it and stick with it for a longer time.

quite long time ago i played with the kinzu which had hardware accel. But then i tried the abyssus, and i liked it more.

very long time ago i played with like 0.05 accel @ 400/800dpi, but that was in 2002-2003-2004 or something, nowadays i will never play with accel again...

i want to have the EXACT same sens in quakelive, counter-strike (any version), quakeworld, cpm, warsow, team fortress 2 etc.. So playing with quakelive accel would make it impossible.

If you intend to have the same settings across all games having no accel does make it easier but I like to be able to turn around fast and that's where the offset and accel comes handy. I guess could you could say that i use a low sens but with a flicky style. Also, sensecap is useful for controlling those flicks. You hit the max sens when flicking and end up turning a similar amount of degrees. Sure, if I could i would play without accel but I'm to lazy to be using my whole arm.

i still can do 360° rail flick shots with 30cm/360° :D

90° flick shots are easy, and 180° flick shots doable

rocket jumps are easy too ^^ (still with 30cm/360°)

i guess that it depends on how you hold your mouse, and if you move with the whole arm or only the hand

but still i like 20cm/360° cause you don't need much space on the mousepad and if let's say you are at a friend's or on lan and there is not much space to move your mouse, instead of putting your keyboard on your legs you increase your sens up to 20cm/360° :p.

20cm without accel is considered to be a med-high sens by most players, which is nice, i think having a medium sens is nice. Fuck ultra low sens, fuck ultra high sens, long live medium sens :p

start at 0 then add +0.3 (too slow)
add +0.3 again, 0.6 (too slow again, i'm not a CS player :p)

add +0.3 again, 1.5 (23.5cm/360°)
and finally add +0.3, 1.8 (19.5cm/360°)

i'm currently hesitating between 1.2 , 1.5 and 1.8 , but i think that i will stay with the good old 30cm/360° ;)

sens 3 dpi 400 best for lg
sens 3.5 dpi 400 best for tracking lg no matter angle
sens 4 dpi 400 minimum required for good rockets but it's also very inconsistant so i use accel.

are those converted values? cypher has used 0.018 yaw/pitch for a long time which changes both sens and the accel value comparted to default yaw/pitch.

Indeed cypher has always used a non default yaw and pitch. 0.018 most of the time with 0.12 to 0.07 accel, i made a .txt file referencing all his mouse settings over the years but can't find it :X

last i saw his settings on stream they were:

The difference between yaw 0.018 and 0.022 with the same accel value is huge. Just admit you failed to copy one of the pros and used too much accel all those years.

yaw and pitch doesnt change accel if you correct the sensitivity. Only thing that affect directly accel is dpi (and driver sensitivity?) Say you have sensi 4@ 0.022 and accel 0.1 it would be same as sensi 5@0.018 and accel 0.1.

We don't know for sure 100%. But you can use their config yourself and usually you can get the gist of it. Players like ins have also literally stole the configs off the pros and the way they aim matches with their config. There hasn''t been any instance of pros trying to hide their config either so it's not like some sekret code to 50% lg.
