Event: FACEIT

In the previous Sunday Cup we saw

Cypher take his fourth victory in five cups, showing an impressive form before DreamHack Winter. This time he took down a strong

tox in a tense grand final.

This Sunday at 09:00 CDT, the FACEIT Fall Season Sunday Cup #6 will take place, where you can see all your favorite players in action.

The FACEIT Fall Season will be played each Sunday for the coming month, where 128 players can join and play for $125, as well as points to qualify them for the Finale.

Commentary this week will be provided by our host,

Daniel "ddk" Kapadia, joined by guests over distance. The stream will go live on FACEIT TV at 09:30 CDT.

Well by casting for FACEIT on-site you do end up losing one or two days either side by travelling. Believe it or not, some people do have other things to be getting on with. I like the FACEIT guys, i was there on day one to help set the stream up too, even invited back... but it just wasn't feasible for me. I don't even know half of the new maps now! Having one commentator or spending money on bringing lesser ones out to guest with ddk (or whoever) every week did seem pointless. I'd rather a player/commentator be called over Skype instead, that makes sense for everybody for the weekly Sunday cups no? Fly people out for the more meaningful events.

I like the skyping. I mean you save a lot of money from flying in these guests and it doesn't even matter because we only hear them during game anyway.

And you can change guests every game. It will add so much variety, it's just awesome.

edit: could you put up the faceit picture of the guest caster and have it on screen. Would feel like a news broadcast that way, more professional.

try to match ddk's pace of talking, don't describe the action, just say what you think the players should do or could do better

So far you cast fine, except you try to put too many words in so that the action doesn't go too far ahead of what you are saying or want to say. Pick the most important things to say first, if the action goes too quick, cut out the other stuff.

You can mention that other stuff in other games

yes, when you play the game for as much as you do (you said that yourself), most things come subconsciously.

on the other hand, someone like rapha has a history with playing very little, yet making it to the top.

Maybe, but generally i was doing that when it was an obvious mistake, so there is nothing wrong with that tbh.. :P However I may have been overly critical of some players this is true :P also id rather be negative than say only positive things, i mean, if u lose, how can u only have positive things be said about your play?

Maybe not exact quotes, but, it was most certainly not implying that the move they made was bad. The wording was that they are stupid.

At your level, top level, it is easier to see the errors being played, it's easy to call them out on these errors. To some you may appear to be bitching on their play style, to others it's fine and well called out.

I think there maybe too much butt hurt from viewers that aren't at top level and so aren't able to see a dumb play for a dumb play.

My advice is do what you do, you make it your own style, why copy rapha's cast style, just be you and if others dont like it they are butt hurt and either don't like you or don't like your cast style... no big deal... you play 'your way' so cast 'your way'.

My one criticism is not to comment on 'all' moves, less can sometimes be more.

On the whole I enjoy your casts and many agree with me there. Many others get butt hurt when you call someone stupid.. I personally think the players you're directing those comments at have tougher skins than the butt hurt viewers realise.

Anyway.. go to bed :D

Oh and tell me your alias when you come UK for lolca lols.

Not sure if you meant me, but, I was not upset by it. As I mentioned above, I want MORE bad plays called out! I like hearing good things, sure, but I also want to know when something bad happens to help learn to be better, in case I missed it, particularly in the meta game. Play by play is okay but I like more thoughtful stuff, too. :D

That's one reason I like listening to the really high-level players do casting, it is helpful in understanding!

This should go onto Fraze's tombstone on the sad, inevitable day that he passes in to Quake Heav3n. :D

Also, very much agree it being a benefit. Many, many, many players that watch Zoot and Ins, as well as Facey, are nowhere near the level of these pros and their casting is valuable to us. Not to imply that ddk and zoot aren't, as well, of course, because they're valuable as well. That's one reason I like ins. He may not be evil or cypher but damnit he's right there with zoot, playing and casting almost every single day and giving people like me insight that I would not otherwise get!

The thing that irritates me the most is that I can sit here, watch the pros play, know that they're about to do something during a game and I know *why* they're gonna do it. But, when I try to play duel myself, I just can't seem to do things that I know I should. Hell, I even yell at the pros on my screen in frustration at them, sometimes. Meanwhile, I can't even beat a 1400 player. Yay for being a hypocrite! :D lol

Thing is when you have watched the competitve duel scene you expect the best decisions to be made and to see ineffective methods can be frustrating but yeah knowing and doing are worlds apart - I know how to do a perfect 147 in snooker but my highest break is 52 :D

Great show today, having several casters on skype gives a more dynamic vibe to the whole 4 hour quake marathon, more spectator friendly. Viewing numbers back to 5k, I think I saw 5.3k peak, haven't watched the whole thing though.

Do Razer give you the Abyssus, Fazz? I used 3 Abyssus's over a period of probably 4 - 5 years. One I bought about 5 years ago, one I bought last Christmas and the other somewhere inbetween, I used all 3 of the mice on Goliathus speed and QCK heavy. None of the mice would be free of jitter at any DPI, they all suffered from different levels of jitter. The sensor in all 3 of my abyssus mice can't possibly be the same as the one you're using at a professional level, they just sucked dude :/

I used mine and liked them and tried to get on with them as much as I could because when they worked they were good but I got so frustrated with the sensor problems and I found it really hard to believe that they (or the product I had) could be used at a professional level. EC2 Evo is my weapon of choice these days, love it. Cheers
