What's your take on this? To be honest, i don't event want to see Fo4 just yet - not on this gen. If they made it so fast after all DLCs and teams working on other games then it can't be any good either.
I haven't really looked into it, probably fake. To be honest I just check NMA from time to time for Wasteland 2 news. :p
In any case, not a huge fan of Bethesda. But what can you do, they run a huge business with console gamers in mind, thus gameplay and depth always suffer. (With that said, I did enjoy both FO3 and Skyrim, in their own way, but they could have been so much more).
can not agree more about your take on f3 and new vegas
last time betheseda screwed them on money pretty badly (that metascore thing)
so I dont even want obsidian to make another game for them, regardless of how
much I'd like to play another Fallout game they would make
Fallout 3 was not a spiritual successor, plenty of stale fetch-quests (go to X, bring me Y, go to X, bring me Y), still the whole ambient was a bit more dark as opposed to the shiny shiny New Vegas. Storyline could be much better, not even going to start on dialogues, lack of fallout humor, lack of memorable characters etc, but I would lie if I said I didn't enjoy fallout 3.
As a fo1/2 fanatic I never really understood all the hate for Fo3.
But anyway I'm more pumped about Wasteland 2 right now, received my complimentary copy of Wasteland 1 last week and tried to play some but it didn't age well.
hate on fo3? maybe because it was boring piece of shit, totally unrelated to previous games?
sure, fnv was shiny. but on the other hand: civilization is gettin up, its normal the game wont be as extreme as fo1. you could actually see the progress between fo1 and fo2.
I think that F NV was shiny, because that was sort of an experiment :
"let's do something different this time, first two fallouts were dark cold and grey, then everyone copied that, then we had stalker, and fo3
So let's try to clash vegas / south west states culture with post apocalypse realities and make up some off-the-roof shit, and try to compromise it with this fallout ish early 60's nostalgia thing"
and yeah, I think that this is one of most inspired rpg things that came in last generation
only really good thing about fo3 was freeroaming and some of the locations, side quest hubs were nice too, but nothing too - stunning
