Does anyone know how to get a stock intel heat sinc fan to run full speed, I tried everything, even bypassing the motherboard and hooking it up direct to a PSU molex connector ,after I tried everything in the mobo with PWM/VOLTAGE etc.
Most I could get out of it was 2000rpm and it was quiet, I'm sure the last time i tried on my q6600 many years ago that bad boy went so fast it gave me a draft and I needed ear plugs, but still.
I have long suspected intel have been fucking people over with these heat sincs making them next to useless, but at least before you could run them full speed and while being noisey, would cool much better.
Have they capped the fan speed?
Google is no help cos I already tried everything I found short of spending 40 quid on a new fan JUST BECAUSE it won't spin at a decent rate.
Anyone???
