you can modd/replace the switch, it's not rocketscience

if you paint it, could be diff to keep it functional

I wanted a black CRT so I bought an identical model MultiSync FE950+. The tube ended up being shite so I just swapped the innards of my old beige one into the new casing.

Hey man, Just came across your paint job on the iiyama - NICE :D. I'm actually picking up this monitor(454) in a few days and thinking of doing exactly the same. Do you think you could take some more pictures of it? Is it easy to disassemble?

hi well done, i have the same monitor but the graphics on it are pretty dark..

you wanna share your monitor settings with me..?

yes sure, in the menu u have:
in the first option u have color settings, set contrast to 0.7volt and brightness to what you like, i have 85.
the next setting is what causing the darkness i think
go again to color settings, and under color you set color temp on
9600K ( this will make things alot brighter )
go to menu again and look for: picture quality and go to: video
and set the video on picture ( picture is for me the sharpest option, and bright at the same time )

im on the 514 right now, and i have to say the 454 plays better, more smooth cuz its more compact. but stat wise your absolutly right :)

Ha, so you own them all, that luck ;) I use 21" HP P1130 which is close but not the ultimate CRT. On Vision Master Pro 514 I'd use 1024x768 at 170Hz instead of 155Hz. And it's not too big for me, for comparison gaming LCDs are usually 24" or bigger.

I just bought a 514 from ebay. What do you mean by " more smooth cuz its more compact" :D. I have a 27'' Samsung @ 120hz but i'm not happy with it :)) . I need more HZ :))) maybe somehwo i will play better :P...

its obviously smaller than the 514 so more compact screen, sometimes when its more smaller it feels more fluent, at least thats my experience on the 454, but the 514 lives up to its expectations !! its rly good :)

I just bought one for 15 euro (25 dollar?).

It's everything I expected from playing on 120hz, coming from years of 60hz lcd playing.

Plus it heats my room :^)

The 454, it's sweet indeed.

I've made a wooden desktop for this small bureau which I had to pull out to place the CRT.

My loyal styncmaster will stay for anything other than gaming.

Also if someone knows french, those mags are so not mine :P

This is actually a temporary setup, I will have more space available for this big bully.

its by far the best crt monitor ever made =) the 454 19" and 514 21" are beasts :D yours is looking good, not even yellowish =)

just spray paint it black with coating, it looks less big that way ;)
