considering the weekly streams get about 1200 and sundays about 2000.... 10k will look pretty good to people wanting to show more quake?????????????????
Not really though, cause it's not a good comparison. More people has seen Godfather. Just look at the number of imdb ratings for example. 250k+ compared to 750k+. The fact is Godfather is considered the best movie ever made by many, so it's really popular. There are lot of great movies not as popular as Twilight though. So even though the idea was good, his comment is simply not true.
(If, for example, we are sticking with the vampire genre, one could mention From Dusk Till Dawn, which was seen by less people than Twilight, but is far superior.)
Real numbers were around 6.5-7k, then that v1lat fella told on his dota stream that viewers should watch Quake and it gave +6k boost, later on aroudn 10k overall stayed. Shit's cool though :)
Quake is best, no question, but it would be great if there was a real huge ceremony like the big popular e-sports.
I mean, after a grand final like that between the two Quake gods that we all love and admire Quake and the champions deserve more than those almost confidential interviews and price givings we saw.
The casters also deserve a lot more for their huge work and commitment.
It was really frustrating to see those seats never 10% filled
I wish that this much discused new quake with ladder, graphics etc. comes out and that cypher, rapha, cooller and all these legend get in the spotlight
The seats were maybe 30% full at the early playoffs, 40-50% in the later stages (depending on match-up) and 110% during finals (people had to stand up). It was awesome.
What was shown on stream was the front rows only, maybe 50% of all seats. It was not nice sitting there because all the cameras on stage was blocking line of sight to casters.
That's the thing I don't understand. After Quake final I tried to watch Dota and it's just dull compared to Quake, even though I play it myself and understand what's going on etc.
Ended up wachting a bit a sc2, the casting there was great.
never understood why quake players hate other games because they get more viewers :/
quake is the game that requires the most skill with sc2 in second and cs:go coming after it.
it's not others games fault for people not watching quakelive's stream, you had different streams for different games and you could watch as many streams as you want at the same time, its just people dont really care for a game like quakelive
maybe some of them did play quake in the past and just had to be reminded of how great this game still is .. i'm kinda like one of those. (due to DHS 2013)
of course nearly none of the really new players will turn on playing quake after getting destroyed .. too much effort to be needed i guess.
moreover its harder to get "into" the community compared to CS or DOTA i think which is important for many people.
I felt like something fishy was going on, at map one its been something like 5k viewers and all of a sudden within seconds its been 15k... wtf happend? :)
