Though he is penalized by ID, I still think he deserves a little wall of shame hangtime. Since many people abort when raged, you could consider not playing vs. people that are known for it, or not play on pro spawned servers at all unless it's your own.

I see your point but I don't think it's harmless. It's no big deal, but I'm glad that it doesn't go unpunished and I hope serverowners will think twice about doing it.

Is it ok if someone insults you? Why does it matter? It won't physically hurt you. Aborting is the same thing. "Fuck you, that game doesn't count." The guy aborting knows it's a dick move. It's even likely he does it because it's a dick move.

how does the game not count? lets say you're leading and he aborts, you still win regardless

"Fuck you, that game doesn't count." is the message he sends. The match was still played, mind you. It didn't vanish, with you forgetting you ever played it. Of course it doesn't count in the stats though. This is another important point. Stats are fun but they lose all value when you can choose what's part of them and what isn't. That's actually why id software bans aborter, not because of the terrible behaviour and bad sportsmanship.

In Monopoly I once landed on mayfair 3 times in a row, went bankrput and flipped the board in the air and ruined it for everyone.

Everyone can get wound up over a game, but you can choose to go full retard and flame or do something like jeezy did, or just say feck it and forfeit or ragequit or whatever. The more you let the rage take over, the sillier you look. The more control you show, the more respect you deserve (i.m.o.).

I could have not reported him like I've done before when guys aborted and shutdown ca or ctf games because the games didn't meet their expectations, but in duel.....it's personal ;-)

Apps did that to me too. He did it while our match was streamed by QLRanks' bot :p. He was banned for a few days. Don't expect Jeezy's ban to be permanent.

jocke12 did the same to me after +backing half the game on bloodrun. When I finally manage rush and kill him he instantly closed the server. Minutes later his server was running again so I sent in the demo and got him banned for a week. Feggets only playing for stats should be insta banned for good.

Why does the option to abort even exist?

It has its uses. The guy who's mentoring me from time to time uses it so stats don't get fucked. (Idk why he just doesn't make it an unranked server, maybe the qlm bot still picks those up)

QLRanks work on unranked servers too. And AFAIK it has nothing to with qlm bot.

well it's good sometimes if the game is messed up from the start, say if the majority f3 then someone goes 999 ping and one times out or whatever and there are no specs to join

it's easier to just abort it and start again than to move people around the teams and watch them try to do it themselves (even if they are good natured people trying to make the game ok by switching, they switch/spec at the same times and get hit by the 'unable to switch teams more than once' thing)

I met this guy in CTF a few times, he's a massive douchebag. Did you report him? I assume the temp ban is like 1 week?
Anyway, people should not for a moment think that if they spawn a server, they can just abuse admin rights without consequences. The server is still id's, not yours, you abide by certain rules(and decency).

Yes I reported it. He wouldn't be banned otherwise because some people do it under agreement like the pr0's practicing for dreamhack.
