as the movie first started I was enjoying the ambient music, it brought me right back to the HL1 intro, then as the movie progressed I was thinking that it would never really top my favourite defrag movie, undead generation of immortals, because it was lacking music with a beat to it, or with a bit more meat, but then by the last song, after being exposed to a metric fuckton of gorgeous maps (the primary reason I watch any defrag movie tbh), I was erect as a monkey on crack and convinced this is just as worthy as undead generation of immortals.

mad skills to the runners but sci-fi movie producers should seriously consider hiring the mapmakers for artistic guidance

that was a run with some controversy surrounding it, iirc ppl complained that only the russians knew the secret way (the one displayed there)

If you mean the one at 22:22, no. That's made by ghost, 'mericun. Number 5 was russian made and also had a weird start in that you had to avoid a takeaway trigger which everyone knew how to do apparently.

Cause the 3rd map had one swede and one russian use the same shortcut, 4th had a bunch of(but not all of them) russians use the hook(which afaik the mapper in supposed incompetence left there as a prank but failed and you could actually use it) but again not all of them. And it wasn't even the best route there, the best route was quite obvious and quite hard but still I expected at least five people to use that. I was very surprised to see only one person pull it off. And the 5th map had a funny start too but not only russians knew about it. And while it's obvious that countrymen from the same clan will share routes I think you need more than that to imply a conspiracy.

Yes, you're completely right there. Mappers first of all shouldn't be allowed to play, nor the people who beta test the maps. For instance the 4th map afaik glm beta tested it, the mapper even put invisible walls(lol retard fail mapping etc...) specifically to prevent the shortcut he used but in the end still failed.
