Not that I know of.

I did forget to mention that this may have something to do with overclocking USB to 500hz for my old mouse, as I only have this problem with USB audio devices.

Did you select to overclock mouse only on usb port ?

I don't remember, it's a long time ago I did it.

You can still run the plugin by using QLDT.

OK so guys I discovered something interesting, thanks to Lam.

I downloaded the QLDM (Quakelive Demo Tool), and from the very moment I launch the application, the stutter dissapears!!!! I'm not even loading a demo, or loading the quakelive plugin. From the moment it says 'Reading Headers' and shows the loading bar, (the loading by the way goes much faster when I spam cancel???) the audio problems go away.

EDIT: when the application is succesfully launched into the screen where I can select the demos, the problem comes back again. Stuttering audio. So in the loading process (Reading Headers) the problem is gone for sure!

Did you try to turn off all cpu power saving features from the bios?

No... Lam thought it could have something to do with CPU power saving. In windows I disabled all those features. But not in bios, I'll do it tomorrow and let you know, need to go to bed now. thanks for your help

how to save the web_hidebrowser thing? that seems to freeze the cpu. couldnt find it anywhere in cfgs

I used to get horrifying stutters on my laptop when using my usb recording interface and being connected to any network in the same time. The hardware probably couldn't handle so many real time suff at once.

Ok, I use something very similar. How did you solve the problem?

Switching off wifi seemed to solve the case. Not sure if plugging in an ethernet cable made stutters while tracking audio input on the device, I havent used that laptop a long time ago for recording. Also power saving mode turned off is a must for these, as pitch said in #21.

Old drivers might also contribute to the issue btw.

I tried WiFi and ethernet cable, both same problem. Power saving mode is turned off , instead I'm on high performance mode. There might be some bios settings regarding power, I'll check it out when I get home, thanks for your feedback.

I had similar issues with my Line6 UX2, i solved most of the stuttering when i upped the buffer in the driver settings.

try turning off power saving if you have any as it throttles your cpu.

I have an onboard soundcard, no external, but atm I'm using a Line6 GX for audio... (or is this an external soundcard?) but I recall that this problem also occured without the Line6 device, but still the drivers might have been active. Since you mentioned this, I think all this started happening after installing the drivers for the Line6 device... I'll take a look when I'm at home, thanks for this input.

Line6 GX is an external card, all line6 cards i have tried have had some small issues with sound suttering outside of asio enabled software.

In any case try updating the drivers via Line6 Monkey and see if that helps. Also do you use any asio host or similar, as that could be running in the background without your knowledge.

I'll try updating it trough Monkey.

Thing is, my audio stutters everywhere, also in the Line6 software like Pod Farm. Audio input is fine, output stutters.

I once downloaded Asio4all drivers for a program called Pianotech or something, since I had big delay on my midi keyboard.

I just remembered, in this program somewhere I had to lower the buffer size or another setting a lot, to minimize the delay.

asio host, reason is an audio host for example.

In other cases it could be a vst/vsti host.
I was using a host that was sitting in the background so i could use vst compressors,reverbs while streaming.
Problem was i forgot it was running most of the time so sound would start to stutter after several hours.

In any case, try using higher value on buffering.
If that doesnt help try changing sound format in audio settings.
Some cases direct audio gets borked by 24bit.
