I've finally decided to post about a project of mine. Took me only death of teamleagues for quake live and being unable to play QL anymore to do it. You can check out the preview on esdf.in/suck-less.

NOTE!!! The site is not functional, this is only a design overview and how things are intended to work. No actual code has been written yet and this thread is more of a feedback thread. What is "Suck Less"?
It's a design for a league site worked on by myself (layout, css and overall idea) and super_koziol (gfx). The idea is to have a tournament system that sucks less than (now dead) clan base, hoq, wga, etc. From the feedback I've got so far, the site's design is quite good, it's not a total clusterfuck and you don't need a map & a compass to get around it.
Features so far:
* First thing you'll notice is that the site doesn't have any news items and similar shit attached to it. There's 3 columns per row which represent the currently announced / ongoing tournaments and offer you only thing you need from a tournament site: to participate or watch. News should be on sites dedicated to news, e.g. ESR.
* Registration will be as painless as possible, requiring only username & password. I'm thinking of adding email verification just for the sake of preventing spam.
* You can also check out the dashboard, which is clean, simple & intuitive. I've included only profile settings I think that matter - username, nickname, password & contact.
* If you're a clan/team owner you'll get to edit all the stuff that's in there, if not you can just preview. If you want to make a team, only thing you need to input is team name, contact & password. Once the team is created you got a few more options to customize it, but nothing extra.
* The team overview section will also show what leagues your team is currently competing in, your upcoming clanwars, new challenges and results awaiting your confirmation. Oh yeah, the roster is there as well with simple options to kick someone out. Once someone enters your team password, he's automatically in - no need to confirm stuff by clan owner.
* The cup/league info page shows some general cup info, rules, participants, brackets & results. Speaking of brackets, they're missing, I'm struggling hard to design something nice when it comes to brackets and will probably use some default embed crap (unless I get an epiphany). The page is also missing a signup button for now. That's about it, all relevant info on one place.
* Team profile page includes contact info, roster overview and achievements. It's currently missing a join form, but will get added.
* All the pages mentioned here are linked somewhere on the site. Since it's not properly linked yet and I don't think that you should crawl through the tabs just to find 1 link, here they are: main page, cup info, login, team profile, dashboard.
What needs to be done:
* Design of the admin panel, footer, personal profile page and add missing details to existing pages
* Actual code to make the site work. So far I've talked to PYTON and he said he could do it, but it'd take him time since he doesn't have time to work just on this, so if any of you want to contribute feel free to reply here, pm me here or join #suckless on irc. Skillset needed: php/mysql/jquery.
* My knowledge in those areas is lacking and with id killing off linux support my interest for QL and related stuff got totally deflated. That being said, I will finish the design on this mainly because I don't want to see all the progress so far go to waste. And I do hope there's guys out there willing to help out with actual code so we make the best tournament site out there.
