As a previous BenQ owner, I'd advise you to stay away. Solely because when you finally decide to purchase one, on your way home, a new edition of the same fucking monitor with newer features will be out.

Not 100% compatible, lightboost is an nvidia feature - you can bypass this by forcing LB with nvidia card or using this program

Yes but marginally.
Going from a 60 to 120 is huge difference. Going from 120 to 144 is negligible. The higher you go, the less noticeable will this differences be.

used both BenQ and ASUS and I prefer the Asus - much more vibrant colors, nicer contrast, whole image looked smoother.

Get an ASUS.

I have the XL2420T (not sure how much it differs from the one you're looking at) and I can say it's amazing.

I can't believe I've waited so long before I bought a 120Hz monitor, and I was really happy with my Benq (I researched quite a lot before I got one, and it was praised all over the web).

Really, I don't think you can go wrong with either of the better models. If you get a defective one, you can replace it.

As for 250fps cap, I still cannot see any difference, but many say it's smoother. The overall gameplay experience is just so much more comfortable on a 120Hz. I have really lazy eyes and they have been bad all my life and this monitor is god-sent for me.

imo XL2411Z is the best choice atm

if you have a nvidia card which supports g-sync, i would wait for monitors which will be available Q1 next year that support it too.
or you get the ASUS one now and upgrade it with a g-sync module later.
