very tense

No idea what game this is, (and I feel like I didn't fully appreciate the insanity of that win) but I really enjoyed that and watched it through. Great editing too.

in Quake Live! "greatest game of all time" could be viewed as controversial...

The thing with W:ET was that it didn't have its time on the spotlight unlike quake had. W:ET was played on quakecon 2005&2006, but apart from that there wasn't that much money put in the game in organising lans etc. So I think the potential of the game was never really found. It's aiming and teamplay wise the most allround FPS game I know (alongside quake).

Aiming wise it's easy to pick up so it makes it more newbie friendlier than quake. When you have obtained good aiming skills it's kinda easy to jump on competitive scene. you need to learn to strafe but that's not a big thing.

It's one of the rare video games in which teamplay means more than aim. Teamplay is all-round from boosting teammates, reviving/healing, covering fire, taking fire. But because of the lack of players the teamplay area wasn't really taken to the next level. e.g smokes are rarely used, Covert ops isn't used that much. Flash grenades are not implemented etc..

All in all W:ET could have been a mainstream game if splash damage would have updated it like valve does now with cs:go. Instead Splash damage woke up 3-4 years late to publish brink which was a total flop. And now they are trying their hands on Extraction but we will see what happens there.

Cheers for that. It seems all the games on esr have an argument for them, each very unique. I was impressed by the video and perhaps someday I'll check it out :)

In-game timer should've been in, not everyone knows how competetive ET works.

The team we watched had to beat the other teams time they set, which was 6:51, a very fast time.

i love ET stopwatch and UT assault modes.
