I use it as single drive. Windows + Program Files and you will fill 128 GB fast.

how to use Partition Master Free to get the wanted result?
I choose my C: partition on HDD in the program -> Copy partition -> Select 'Destination Partition' my unalocated SSD -> and it promtps me to window where I see:
- Unallocated space before: 0 MB
- Partition size: 50 GB (my current C: size, can't change it)
- Unallocated space after: 72 GB (rest of SSD space)
I'm not sure if it's right, because from I what can see it means I'll get 2 partitions on my SSD: 50GB (as C: now) and rest. Am I doing/getting something wrong? :)

Well let's try another tool http://www.disk-partition.com/free-partition-manager.html. It has an option for migrating from hdd to ssd and as far as I remember it will resize your 50gb partition to a whole drive in the fly.

Thanks. I actually used p0rt's suggestion and copied C: partition to SSD making it extended to the whole drive.
After that I tried changing boot sequence in BIOS (up to removing all of 2nd and so forth variants, leaving the only option to boot from SSD) but I still get booted with system loading from C: drive - I suppose it's because boot-files on SSD are exact from C:, so all the paths are intact.
Now I found about bcdedit windows system tool and will try to change the boot paths through it, although after doing that OS might not load properly (all that registry stuff will probaly still have C:\ in all path info), so before doing that I need to have a DVD with Windows 7 burnt on it, in order to have 'Rescue disk' available to change paths with bcdedit back. Turned out to be quite a hassle and it's not yet over :D

I don't remember having any troubles with booting from new drive, it should become new C:\. Have you tried unpluging other drives and leaving only ssd ? If it is not booting with only ssd inside it means that you haven't copied systems boot partition, the small one, 100MB. It should also be copied to ssd together with C:

My suggestion, remove partition from ssd and copy it again using the second tool I provided. Then unplug other drives and leave only ssd as primary boot device.

I haven't tried unplugging HDD. I will give your software and actions suggestion a try tomorrow, thanks.
In my current setup SSD just couldn't become new C:\, as I copied it to SSD which was marked as Z:.
Also, if it all works well with unplugging and my SSD becomes C:\, how would my old HDD be accepted by system when I'll try plug it in again (having in mind there still will be old partitions marked as C: and D:)?

This is why you have to change boot order in bios and set ssd as first. System should be loaded from it and it should become C:. The rest is being reassigned automatically and become D:, E:, F: etc.

I finally got my hands onto your last software suggestion, and it worked like a charm: I just copied my C: partition to SSD and changed boot order (didn't unplug my HDD), and new SSD became C:!

either leave like 10%-20% or so unpartitioned or watch that your ssd doesnt get full, cause SSDs need extra reserve space to work properly

Thanks, noted. Although the main idea would be not to have more than 60-70 Gb filled with soft & os, rest would be used to have some game installed - got played - deleted :)

I don't know much about ssd but this doesn't sound right. This would just leave these sectors unused. Sources?

its the only partition program that will fix your boot sector, when your multi OS linux grub breaks, and your drive just stays on the blinking line in the top corner

make bootable CD/USB stick with Clonezilla: http://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-live.php

save HDD partition as image
restore HDD image to SSD (needs to be equal or larger in space, obviously)

As I need a solution after which my SSD will become my new C:\ (+extended to whole size of SSD, not 50Gb only), so the OS/software installed will work from SSD.

just go into your bios setup, and idsable your old HDD, and replace it with your SSD in the boot sequnce checks
